This was my graduation thesis to obtain my Master's degree, i used a Fuzzy PID controller and the result turned out to be just fine, i didn't write a script i used directly the FIS and entered the fuzzy rules and the membership functions, Fuzzy logic is really an interesting field and if you can use it with neuron networks and genetic algorithms some fascinating results will come out, i'm really looking forward to your next video about the artificial pancrease. and thanks a lot for these series of educational videos, they are really useful.
Thanks! I don't have any experience mixing neural nets and FIS but I have read about some interesting results like you said. Maybe one day I'll have an excuse to learn more about it.
Bendiab Salah Eddine, how exactly does one create membership functions. I get really stuck on how to do that. If you have an idea, it would really help, only with FIS files.
Amazing video as always Brian! I’m wondering if you would consider doing a video on how to choose the right control system for your project. It seems like there’s so many options it hard to see which is best for a given application.
I usually design a fuzzy control system by analogy with a PID class controller. But the proposed approach (rules with one input) is very attractive for students
I have a 'practical' question. How long do you need to wait between iterations? Presumably, the balancing pole + cart needs some amount of finite time to respond to the fuzzy correction, before the next set of sensor samples.
@@BrianBDouglas Hi Sir, i can't do simulation, even after write "slcp" in command window. The Fuzzy Logic Controller not exist in Matlab 2023a, i want to follow this lecture sir.
