Pizza and sandwiches use completely different doughs. If you microwave bread, it goes soggy, but if you microwave a pizza, it just gets a little moist-er. That being said, a microwave heats from the inside out, so the filling on the sandwich has a better chance to be fully cooked compared to a toaster oven where you'll probably burn the bread before that happens. Pizza ≠ Sandwich though.
