Thanks for the review. Curious to know what Op amps are being used, and if you can roll them. I checked the website. I couldn't find any info on that. I guess someone would have to open it up to see. The cool thing about this device is that you can connect it USB. Then you can output via optical to another better DAC. The noise that may be introduced via the USB port cannot be transferred from the USB port to the optical port internally (which is a great thing). It only sends the digital audio signal. This is another way to illuminate external noise that was introduced through via USB port. 😁
Are there any other more upscale Desktop DACs or DAC/AMPs with Toslink Optical Inputs and Outputs. Or at least a high Quality DAC with Toslink Optical Outputs
The Topping 10s does. It uses the same DAC. However, the Topping 10s is the better DAC out of the box. It only outputs to optical though. The FX-Audio DAC-AQ6 may be the better dac if you can swap out the Op-amps to something like the Burson 5Vi, or the Sparkos Labs Opamp. The Topping 10s opamps cannot be upgraded/rolled.
