Jeff Poleet Except for my Sam Yang. 25 cal. It's the most powerful. 25 Cal I own. At just under 50 ft Pound's. Is your regulator set correct. It's the same as my impact 100% as far as power goes.
FX sent me an email today telling me that I should max out the hammer spring as I sent an email with my chrony results. I am on the road working this week so I have no had a chance to take the rifle apart to adjust the hammer spring. Honestly, after spending that much money I would rather sell it than touch one more damn knob on the gun. It's sitting in the case right now in the closet because it pisses me off just to look at it. If I could kick my own ass for buying it I would, but I can't, so I am bitching on RU-vid instead. I also own the Sumatra in .25 caliber and my Crown .25 is nowhere even close to the power of that gun. On my Sumatra the power adjuster is actually of use to me, as if I move down to a 26 grain pellet I start to break the sound barrier and so I turn the gun down. My Sumatra is by far my favorite and most accurate rifle at long range and I expected similar results out of my Crown. Shooting at 34 grain pellet at 730 fps is technically 40 ftps, but I don't live on paper. In the real word that means at 100 yards I am aiming at the sun in order to hit my target.
Just picked one up in .22, 18.13 JSB 26.4 ft/lbs right from the box with a reg on 110 bar, can't wait to start tuning her, very informative video's Matt, well worth watching.
FX have done it again!! Just when you think they can't do much more with the SmoothTwist barrel system BANG - out comes a new iteration that's better than before. I take it then that you are deeply in love with your new FX crown and been a fan of your videos since I discovered them on RU-vid especially the series on how to properly choose an air rifle that set up a rifle 101 or something similar. Anyway down to the question I have for you for a new PCP owner which is the direct with you recommend for a beginner PCP shooter.
Awesome review.... Because of it i am also a proud Owner of an FX Crown. I wonder if you could let us know about the setting you use, and how much the pellet drops at 100 m . I am using 5 on the hammer spring adjuster, 22 on Transfer port and 130 bar. With JSB Heavy.22. And it drops a lot on 100 Meter.
Did anyone else notice that when the pellets hit the metal target at 100 meters, the chiming sound or report was in exact same key as the background music that was playing? Just thought it was a nice touch to go along with the excellent shooting.

With the 600mm barrel in .22 as it is obviously longer than the 500mm how many shots extra do you get from this upgrade?

I bought an HW45 from AOA, it came damaged on the top rail, I called them, they said "all the HW45's come through with some sort of flaw from the manufacturer" so I sent it back. I ordered an HW44 from them assuming hey the poly body and HIGH end price might come better built. My HW44 was sent by Airguns of Arizona in a UPS box, NO manufacturer box, it was literally wrapped in a swath of bubble wrap and clear tape. ( I have the photos). Needless to say I was a bit taken back by the "brand new" state of the art HW44 shipped with ZERO manufacturers boxing.... literally in a box of shipping popcorn, wrapped in a layer of bubble with clear tape!!!... I called AOA, asked them why was it shipped without a box?? They IMMEDIATELY took the defensive, they said I called them liars, etc... when all they had to do to defuse the issue was say " sorry, we didn't get manufacturers boxes with the HW44's". instead, I was the bad guy when I opened my $900.00 pistol assuming it was used or ...who knows??? They sent very dergoatory and rude emails, and never apologized. I would avoid AOA at all costs!!! if anyone wants the transcripts of emails you are VERY welcome! ...I ordered my FX Crown from another retailer and It has been night and day with the sale!! I would avoid AOA.
I feel sorry for you but you may know weihrauch is one of the best airgun brand out there they cant go wrong with their product it must be AOA they might have sent you used product and also u may know they have lost business with FX.
I have desired a long long time for this gun it's an amazing one and far more wanted one for me .I just love it. And hope I could have one before my death . But unfortunately I can't afford it. Financially it's out of my reach. But I love it . Carry on bro . No matter I can't but I meet up my unquenchable thirst for it by watching yours
Very nice rifle Matt, i know that the impact is a very capable rifle but i far rather prefer the more traditional stock on the Crown and differently would be one on my short list if i was on the look out for another FAC air rifle but i very much doubt if i'll ever see one available in Northern Ireland.

As a airgun enthousiast and repair service for local gunstore i got my hands on a crown to sight in and test ;-) Emediatly i was surprised that the .25 max velocity was only 264 m/s ?? Why on earth is that ? The standart regulator pressure was 130 bar. So i tought that to bring the regulator presure up to 150 bar the gun would shoot harder... but nope then it was only shooting 240 m/s ?? What did i do wrong ??? The .25 and .30 setting is same by the way so no more power for a .30 barrel ? I'm disapointed !!
Good gun review I've been thinking the same thing get the new smooth twist X barrel for the FX Impact. The better barrel will probably make that gun the FX Impact unbeatable for Bullpup's at the least it'll make the Impact a better all-round shooter. I'd like to get the FX Crown also it's too nice of a gun to turn down. I'm sure more accurate too with all the extra tuning on it.
Matt, my son owns an Impact and recommends the Crown for my varmint/pest control applications. Here is my concern as echoed by many of the questions below. I am a casual shooter that will use this airgun as required. I don't want to have to monitor too many variables in terms of adjustments. I appreciate that you can get optimum performance specific to a pellet choice however, I will get a small window haul off and shoot....not check this, check that, adjust this, adjust that. So, as much as I too believe FX makes top quality airguns, I wonder if the HW110 or R10 MkII are not more appropriate for "entry level" users? Or, am I trading off tangible performance? Furthermore, if I was to tune an FX Crown to a specific pellet spec, how often to I need to tune a Crown in order to maintain that performance?
hey matt make a long range 200 yard hunting video of pest birds with the fx crown. and some long range night duck hunting wouldnt hunt either "long range" 200 yards + plz. lets push the limits with the crown. i have school and no time to go hunting myself. really enjoy watching your videos. keep up the good work.
.22 cal airguns are not for 200 yards. They are barely good to 100 for hunting small game. It would result in many inhumane kills but mostly wasted shots air and pellets.

Gday ,Matt, any chance of showing how you installed the sling stud in the fore-end of the rifle? My crown is awaiting pickup and the guys at the shop are really hesitant on installing a stud there unless they can see what it looks like. Hello matt, How often this gun leaks or breaks down? There is a dealer here in holland that stopped selling fx airguns cause they say the guns breaks down quite often. Really like youre hunting videos and good explaining in long range shooting !! Greets kevin

Hi Im just getting into the pcp (airgun sport) And im looking at the tx crown comming from a basic gamo I mostly do range shooting and just want to het a good rifle and not buy 5 cheaper onesand then get to the fact that i want more outa the rifle... so im thinking to get the high end fx straight away... do u recomend this Thx
Nothing is that expensive it's just people that like airguns are willing to pay that much for them so the price gets jacked up. In the last 8-9 months I have learned a great deal about the airgun world and I don't think it is for me. I love to shoot airguns, love to shoot anything, but at the prices, limited information, wonky business practices and 1995 websites, nothing is standard or universal so you might have 95 different fill probes, and the fan boys are the WORST. You know, the dudes that pay $3000 for an air rifle that shoots 500 fps and think they are getting a steal, fan boys. You must hurry up and wait 8-12 months for anything you want to buy and good luck finding any accessories that are supposed to go with the product. It takes about 18-24 months for one freaking product to make it to market. Basically, it comports to none of the known and sucessful business practices used by every modern business in existence, relys too heavily on niche fanboys to determine market price and features, overpromises, overcharges, and underdelivers.
the carbon/ replaceable tank and ability to unscrew full, is worth $400, the Italian insane adjustable stock is $300, the magazine is a crazy design.. ($100), the technology in the barrel , ($500), the trigger, $200, the block, $300, the side bolt, $200, the case $30.00, one of the best build in the industry, you pay for what you get. if you can't afford it don't complain. It has NOTHING to do with "fanboys". I drive a $60,000 turbo diesel SUV, I suppose I could have bought a 25,000 one but mine kicks ass and I love it. I am not boasting, ,,,, you get what you pay for my friend.... I am obnoxiously sure this $2,000 .30 air rifle is better than any $1,200 air rifle.. let me know if you have one that competes
Why does people pay a lot for a nice hunting scope when there are lower end scopes ? Why does people pay a lot for a motocross or a snowmobile ? Not that much parts on these if you compare to a car right ? But the costs can be pretty much the same! Also another big thing is the demand! If the factory has to produce 10 times more in a month and invest in this i guess the price will get lower. These are extremely niche products as far as i can see it. The machines they use are pretty expensive and they invest money in R&D aswell! Also Weihrauch, Air arms, Anschutz, Feinwerkbau and Steyr to mention some is not that inexpensive ether so what are you comparing to? Most have low end rifles but FX goes right to the middle/Top end and has nothing in the lower segment. All other company's has regular spring rifles to offer, FX dont.
Craftsmanship and meticulous attention to engineering. In this day of high volume manufacturing performed by low-wage labor for maximum profit, you don't see much craftsmanship like this. FX rifles are made by people who love airguns for people who love airguns.
Hello Matt ... please, I need your help, I have an FX Crown .25 and a telescopic sight Aztec emerald 5.5-25 x 50 MM, in FX Airguns recommended me to use the regulator between 125 to 130 Pressure Bar , which is perfect, I use a software called Strelok or Chairgun, to help me have more precision at a distance and perfectly matches the distances with the MilDot. When I change the .22 caliber cannon and enter all the data to the software, I completely lose the precision with respect to the mildew versus distance, I do not achieve the accuracy that I have with the caliber .25. What will be the problem? Please, I await your response. Thank you.
Hi Matt. Love your videos. Big fan. I'm in australia and have just ordered a Crown for hare hunting but it is 4 months away yet. How many shots have you put through yours so far and are there any specific things I should be getting the dealer/importer to look over or test before I take delivery? I don't mind if there are little issues. Just don't like having to send guns back for something simple.
