Young Pappy rapped kinda fast, but there were times he rapped slow, he made tracks for girls, he had storytelling, he rapped about struggling etc...he rapped with a lot of emotion and energy

L’A Capone was that one for me. He could do the gangster cuts on songs like Murder or Play for Keeps, but then switch to something and different with songs like SO LOUD. Then, you’ve got a song like 600 Barz, which really speaks to his lyrical potential as well. Bro was versatile. Plus, he wasn’t even around that long, yet made such a huge statement in the rap scene over there. And all at such a young age. He was only 16-17 for all of that. He had star power too. Looks and charisma. But I miss all of the guys gone. Imagine music if they woulda made it. Damn shame, but that’s how life goes. RIP the legends, long live 🕊️

Man listen Chief Keef made it for a reason! It’s easy to say who would’ve been big if they lived to see it but tbh everybody that died was probably meant to die just being real.. it’s a reason why Keef made it the way he did. He brought a new sound to hip hop and a new wave of music and was the “It Factor” … pappy was not no it factor he was just a rapper in Chicago who died.. nothing more nothing less… every drill rapper from Chicago ain’t meant to make it mainstream.. that just what that is
@@FolksNem7 these interviews are so watered down now it’s crazy.. why is this even talked about at this point… these guys been dead almost 10 years and some have been dead over 10.. times have changed and every 3 to 5 years the sound of music changes and it evolves.. so to say that these “Drill Rappers From Chicago” would’ve been big when The drill scene is slowly dying makes no sense to me..

He was first to pop so that’s why he got his slot but I knew durk can structure songs better than keef n he will take over eventually.

I gotta agree von revived the drill music scene when he was alive he brung back the excitement of it with his storytelling and fbg duck was for sure one of my favorites dawg was so versatile.

Pappy was one of the best drill rapper’s I’ve heard other than Duck and L’A Capone that really put me onto Chicago music. Pappy had the energy and he was lyrical too…..
