Well, Look at you. You have memorized the music - First mark of a real professional. You sit on the bench like the young gentleman you are. You play. Yes, you do play and very well at that. The music just seems to pour from your fingers. No fanfare. Nice attention, no mistakes worth thinking about. Beautiful performance. I think you have a following that would like to see more posting from you. It is so nice to see your interest in the Symphonic music from the French composers. This is the real hardcore stuff that audiences love to hear. Plenty of dynamics and room for the rafter shaking full organ. Play on, young sir. You are doing well.
The interpretation process is done when learning a piece i think. The moment you play from memory, it’s just about playing how you learned it to be played.
Bravo! Your tempo is so much better (a trifle slower) as you play this Toccata on this recording. So many other organists leave no clarity because they play it much too fast, obscuring the notation. Thank you for your many video recordings. I must find a source for this Belier work because I want to be playing it this summer for weekly demo recitals here in Independence, Missouri - and postludes for church occasionally. Maarten, very nice performance! I really enjoy this piece, and I like the registrations you've chosen. I'm curious about the divisions of this organ. Most scores I've seen place the louder passages on the Grand-Orgue, but it looks like you're using the choir division. Is the Great on the lowest manual in this organ? Or did you couple the Great to the Choir? Or does the Choir just have a lot of full-toned stops as it is? Also, it looks like there are two enclosed divisions on the second and third manuals. Is the top manual an unenclosed antiphonal division? Thanks, and again, very good performance. Would love to be able to play like you :)

Music is very underrated on the job market unfortunately. You’ll have to give concerts to crowds of thousands of people to make some nice money. But you’ve got to do what you like to do :-)
