The last traditional Darius game (before the compilation style DariusBurst, at least) absolutely nails the mark, representing the culmination of a full decade of refinement and polish for the series. It's a true genre classic.
Your definition of “Popular” is terrible. If it was “Popular” , children all over the Internet would be defending it to an extreme and calling people who don’t like it gay. Meanwhile, this has 8,000 views, and is nowhere near that stage.
i missed the old good time, its been over 20 years...I still remember exactly where i play this game for the first time with my cousin, my friends, such a good memories that cant be erased in my mind. Im happy that my childhood was completed back then
8:30 "As your allies surround you, you feel a moment of peace, suddenly the fish don't seem so tough anymore... Yes! You can do thi... *BOOM FISH OWNAGE DESTRUCTION EX F YOU UP!"* That scene is the most awesome thing I have ever seen in my life! Lol I got tears in my eyes man, so freaking awesome XD
I love this game. The endings are all weird with only one being canonical as it sets the stage for the next game, but it's all really an amazing experience. That Klaxon for the bosses showing up and the sheer size of them is such a pulse pounding moment.
G-Darius HD (Switch and PS4) now includes the PS1 version of the game along with two alternate versions of the original arcade game thanks to a free update that was released in June. The PS1 game is still just as fun as ever and it’s impressive how well the 3D visuals have aged despite being a PS1 era title, just goes to show that tight gameplay and good art direction are timeless. G-Darius also has easily one of the best soundtracks in the series.
Glad to see this as a popular upload My only complaint is the sound It's very effects happy and you can't hear the incredible soundtrack at all at times
My only issue with this port, the slowdown, other than that, solid game. The versions on Taito Memories, and Taito Legends 2 are fantastic though. Do own all 3 I listed, the PS1 port I got years before the Taito compilations.
Ah... This game, we used to play the demo so much, that when we got the full version we got exhausted of it and never played past the first level (also it was in between like 60 pirated games I got as a gift back then) it was my favorite Darius game, and probably one my favorite Shoot Em Ups overall
Hands down, G-Darius is still *THE* best Darius game ever made. It's a real shame that Taito decided to end the whole series with DariusBurst though, they had a great idea going, especially amongst the popular SMUPS like Gradius, R-Type, ThunderForce, etc. I really gotta hand it to the artists who conceptualized the giant robotic fish bosses as well. The Silver Hawk ships look really sleek and stylish even when I first saw it on Darius Twin. Btw NintendoComplete, which one of the G-Darius bosses did you like the most?
You did not get the GOLD hawk rank, due to dying. Still. That is very impressive! Tho that ending is rather strange. Gets the impression of Aliens, testing all the humans. And now they deal with the battles.+
Not bad playing at all. As for your question, I have the rank system figured out and put into the most straightforward language possible. Each of the factors is worth somewhere between 10-20% out of a total of 105%. To achieve a Gold Hawk rating, you must have a score of 101% or higher. 1) Enemy kill ratio - Shoot everything that moves. 2) Enemy formation kill ratio - Don't allow any enemy attacking in a formation to escape; destroy whole formations. 3) Boss fight hit accuracy ratio - During boss battles, cease fire when there is nothing to hit/damage in the attack plane. This factor is worth 1% of your rating per every 10% of your accuracy.
I actually think the only bad part of the description is saying "THQ" instead of Taito Other than that, great game, my favorite in the genre even, this thing is seriously a blast to play. Is so good, the entire company that was formed after this "G.Rev" used the "G" as a reference of them being the fellas behind G.Darius, that's how big this game is.
To be fair, the case of this game boldly displays "THQ" on its front, but only mentions Taito in small, fine print on the back. So if someone was just going by what was on their physical case, they'd likely see "THQ" first.
This looks better than Thunder Force V eventhough TFV came out 1 yr before this on Saturn, then released on pS the nxt year. Both are still great games, but I only rly started looking into the Darius games this year. I never realized how much I was missing out on till now
🥹 I finally found the game I use to play at my grandma's house in the ps2. I'm so happy I found it. Yet this game was in a collection of games but I can't find the collection games
