Love this. I advise readers here to check out 'Imelda de' Lambertazzi' and 'Fausta' too, which also announce Donizetti's maturity (along with 'Anna Bolena'). Also, the Sinfonia for 'Maria di Rohan' gets my vote for best sinfonia.
