In 2009, GD was very young when he faced a huge amount of criticism with people calling for him to leave BB, petitions for him to k*ll himself and other horrible things. He was only 20 years old at the time and way too young to be facing all this hate at such a young age. I'm glad he never gave up and used that hate to motivate him to work harder. It is truly sad though that this was only the start of the hate he would receive later on and throughout his career. Back then these are the words he said in regards to the plagiarism scandal: “It's not like that they'll believe me even if I explain everything; I hope that sometime later they'll acknowledge me as a 'person that works hard'. I think it'll be solved then so I try to not care about it. It's quite disappointing though. Even though I may look like a flippant person on TV but I work hard. When everyone else is sleeping I write songs. I barely even sleep. I mean why, what do they hate about me so much. Since I'm still young and I still do get hurt.“ “From the perspective of the person being criticized, it is hundreds of thousands of times more difficult. To be in that kind of position in a small country like Korea is actually very disheartening. Even though I understood it, it was very painful. GD had one of the longest training periods in kpop history. 5 years at SM and 5 years at YG. 10 years of training and YG was a small company and he had times when he had to not eat because YG didn't have to money to by enough food and they would have clean the studio for older artists and be errand boys for them also Yang Hyun-suk put a lot of pressure on him. A boy is about now that he has all this success and admiration from the entire country. He's still remembers when he was the kid no one thought was good enough to debut and was cleaning floor for people.

Well you are almost right back then gd and taeyang were trainees far longer than the others so they also performed as back up dancer for other yg idols like se7en. In one of se7ens concert both underperformed which is something you can't do in yg and when their ceo told them this gd grinned like he was already sure he is in bigbang. So their ceo told jiyong "do you want to go home after 6 years training"? After this jiyong trained so much harder and gave 150%. If you want to become an idol in yg you need to always show above 100% otherwise you will not debut. All groups after bigbang also went through this and while many may call this harsh training in the end it helped them after debut. You all know how media gossiper and hater search for any reason to bring groups down.

In spite of all the hate YG gets from VIPs, I am grateful to YG for having helped create the Bigbang we know and love. There is no perfect company, YG is probably one of the better ones out there. Like you guys said, seasons come and go. Its time for the boys to move on, just as all the people that we know as YG family have also left. Many of the YG staff who worked with Bigbang have also left. I am grateful to Galaxy for having stood firmly behind GD during that ridiculous drug investigation. There was not even an apology from the police for having leaked his name to the media when they shouldn't have. Like you say, I too believe GD was used to divert public attention from something big. Putting aside all this, I'm probably getting clowned again by GD but I shall look fwd to new music from him this year 🤡!
