To me, this song expresses the doubts that GD feels in the middle of the night. He's feeling jaded after 10 years and saying he wants to go back to when he was young and enthusiastic - to remember his bright, shining dream so that he can keep going. He's not just trying to inspire others, he's trying to re-inspire himself.
I think so too. He somehow lost the inspiration and find it hard to compose songs during their Made album era. It's good that he went to military and now this pandemic is slowing the fast paced society we all have. I wonder what songs he was able to create during his hiatus.
Yeah that’s a good interpretation of the song too. Gd did say he wants his music/ lyrics to be interpreted in many ways. I interpreted the song the same way Charles did. But I definitely see your thoughts. There’s no wrong answer with interpretation😁.
Agree. I feel like that “during 10years many questions” GD is referring to the doubts he had on whether all the sweat bullets he sweated and the cold tears he held back (that’s the hardships and struggles he had been through) really worth it or are they really bringing him to the dream he dreamt about when he was a boy And then he sings let’s start now, meaning putting away all the doubts now he is sure that he won’t forget his young dreams and he is taking the chance to go for it Shine a light!
This song was written for the child GD or the little Kwon ji young, how GD felt sorry for his yong self to have to endured a lot in order to get this far. There's an interview, he talked about how he came up with this song and concept. The apple has 2 meanings, one represent learning and another represent "sorry" or apologetic feeling. In Korea they associate Apple with sorry, I am not sure it's a pun or how they say apple in Hangul.
13 year old G-dragon was a SPITTER. I recommend you react to songs he was in when he was a kid: GD-"My age is 13" (which is the one in this video) YG FAMILY- "HIPHOP GENTLEMAN" (fly af) PERRY- "STORM" (feat GD) YG FAMILY - "AYO REMIX"
"I'm G-Dragon whatever people say..." part is from his song "My age is 13". The shots of when he's little from this MV are from there, too. Just saying that's where it all started and that he's been killing it way longer than most people know or can imagine. Thea Heartbreaker album was released a couple of months after MJ died so the tribute he did during live performances with this song to the late MJ just fitted so well.
The apple was a recurring symbol for the Heartbreaker album and its songs, it symbolizes love and also GD's heart, he poured his heart out for the fans in this, his first solo album. Fun fact, in the Coup d'Etat video, you can see the apple from Heartbreaker all shriveled up resting among the branches (or roots, I can't remember exactly) of a dead white tree.
When he goes through so much pressure and pain and he's done with it, he thinks about the dream he had as a little boy and he instantly feels the hardship is worth. I think that's what he meant but again it's GD, who knows. The Korean for 'apple' and 'to apologise' is 'sagwa'. This album is called heartbreaker and the apple represents his heart(coup d'etat mv is full of heartbreaker reference btw). Connect the dots and you'll realise what a genius he is.
Oh, wait until (if u choose) listen to (lyrics only no video) Divina Commedia and Superstar... That also talks about his rise to fame and prominence and loneliness... Reminds me of Brittany Spears and Christina Aguilar and how they rose so fast as child stars and then had mental breaks... I just hope GD Kwon Jiyong takes better care of himself then MJ did...
I think this song was like a message for himself. In the road he's currently walking (celebrity road), he achieved many things and got what he dreamed and wished for but that road is accompanied by many heartaches and downhills that sometimes it makes you forget why you walked that road in the first place. It's like he wants his current self to be reminded of the time when he was still a struggling artist who is very uncertain of his future in order to keep going and to be constantly reminded that he walked this arduous road because this is what he wants the most and he's passionate about it. I always love the effort you guys put into breaking down the songs' lyrics though. 💕
That cover seems dramatic but it actually makes for the album's concept, the message is pretty deep, that apple is a heart btw. A Boy is one of the most beautiful songs from GD for me and ofc that he produced the beat with Choice, you should know that by now, he worked hard for every released song. You should definitely react at Obsession from him too, I'm really curious about your reaction at the lyrics of that song, it's a different side of GD.
The heartbreaker album is phenomenal in my opinion. Every song is worth reacting to. Hope you can also react to Seungri's solo stuff, the boy really has dope songs.
GD started in the industry very young - here are some videos you could react to from when he was a kid: G Dragon Little Roo'Ra performance (6 years old, dancing) YG Family - Hip-hop Gentlemen GD - my age is 13
Thank you for reacting to this. This is one of my favorites from him. Pls react next to YG family Hiphop gentlemen MV. The little GD is there too. Also pls check the MV of 1TYM (Teddy Park's group) - HOT. Trainees GD and Taeyang are there. I think most hiphop groups of YG MVs, little GD is there. Btw, I think GD's first official song was "THIS LOVE".
Yes, he was still a trainee that time. Just like when Winner's Kang Seungyoon was given to release a solo song/mini album. He also has his WILD AND YOUNG. A lit MV too.
OMG I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! a lot of people dont know about this song.My life would be complete if you react to songs like Only Look At Me, Wedding Dress, We Belong together, Butterfly etc.
This song is about his progress and how much sacrifices he had endured. Anytime GD felt tired and wanted to give up, he was telling himself to remember his dreams back then and that child Kwon ji yong's hardship and sacrifices his young self endured for him to grew into Gdragon. The Apple represents his heart for learning, another reason is feeling "sorry". In Korea when one is feeling apologetic, they offered an apple. It's a pun. It may be what they call apple in Hangul language. This song he wrote as tribute to his young self, There's an interview about it.
Dude l freakin love this too awwww l will wait for more BIGBANG and the members but can u watch BIGBANG this love with eng sub pleaseee old but goldieeee💞👑💎
Hey, thanks for reacting to this song and mv! It has always been one of my top 3 favorite gd songs. The apple represents his heart. It's common in Korea for someone to reference their heart by calling it an apple because to them, an apple looks similar to a human heart. Also if you pay attention to the imagery of the video, you see the apple (his heart) being beat down and worn down by the industry and the Korean media. Pleaae react to Window. 👍
I'm glad you noticed that it's not Shine Alive. Kekeke. G-Dragon's first solo concert is Shine A Light. You should probably check out the songs from his first solo album too. Heartbreaker, Hello ft. Dara, Butterfly, Breathe, Korean Dream ft. Taeyang. Also, The Leaders is from that same album and a few more songs.
I love this song so much it's old but gold...remember Gd wrote this when he is young...i miss gd & of course bigbang😍😍😍😍😍...thank you!..kindly react WHO YOU?by GD pls.
He also once introduced the song in his motte concert saying “this song about the boy who brought me here today” by the way gd started wheb he was only 6 years old but his first mv was when he was 12 years old internationally but 13 in korean
Nice one❤️❤️❤️I like the way when u explain the lyrics I hope and pray that g dragon and all members of bigbang watch ur youtube channel thumbs up for u👍👍👍👍
On 2NE1tv GD once said that he really likes his house but he spend most of his time producing music at YGE and always in 2NE1 1st season were a couple of episodes that were all about GD's first album, it shows also while he was filming his mv for his HEARTBREAKER song. His HEARTBREAKER album was released on his birthday because he wanted that way he was so excited about his album
I think he used this song to pay tribute to MJ during his solo concert, not only because MJ died during that year but also both of them share the same life experiences. Also, both of them were song writer/composer, perfectionist and visual artist share the same passion.
Btw everyones idol is Michael for sure even non artists or just normal people but gdragon mentioned that he was heavily influenced by black music r and b and hip hop, he and top was and still the biggest fans pf wu tang clan
To have to motivate yourself and remind yourself why you are where you are amidst the pain and the down side of your dreams... he tries to remember that dream he held unto as a child. Nevermind the naysayers and the haters. They cant make him regret his dreams and his goals that he has reached and continue to strive for.
Gdragon really suffered he was 19 when people rose a petition for him to literally attempt a suic^de he really received a lot of hate he suffered a lot
@@user-kk1vt1wm8b yes he was so young either way. Just saying that spreading misinformation is not good, dude. You got his age wrong, i corrected it. Nothing more.
His first album heartbreaker was soo good, he was only 21😱 that year he got so much hate, it was really bad 😭 He is really the king, no one comes even close to that
