Reasons why GD dissed MAMA: 1: MAMA started giving out awards to basically almost anyone just so companies/groups will attend and to make people happy, not b/c a song had merit. It actually got worse after that year and they started inventing new awards to give to people that have nothing to do with the actual music. 2. If I remember correctly, 2NE1 wasn't even nominated for album of the year in 2014 despite having one of the best performing albums simply b/c a member had a controversy. 2NE1 was also from YG and GD is close to the members, especially two of them Also, the lyrics are not complete. At the part of Show Me The Money, there's also a line that says "I don't even know how much I have", SMTM is a rap competition show by the same network, Mnet. At the time, there had only been 3 seasons and some idols were competing, so I think some people were wondering if GD or TOP would too (at least some international fans, idk about Korean fans). Bobby who is also from YG actually won season 3, and that made a lot of people mad b/c idols usually are not considered "real" rappers. These days, YG artists don't go to MAMA and we're not mad about it. MAMA/Mnet has been shady to every group in the company. They made a rule that if you don't attend, you don't get the award, even if you win the vote. In 2017, GD clearly should have won. His song performed way better digitally, he won all the fan votes, etc. The only thing that wasn't shown was some category where it's basically officials pick, but it's only supposed to count for 20%. But instead they gave the award to Zico, which honestly I don't think he felt too good about considering he knew he didn't win fairly (he's a great artist too).

(In the song, F**k It, the lyrics have been (again) interpreted as G-Dragon saying "I love you" but only to get it in....) It's been a year, MAMA. Because you set such a large table/awards (sang), You hand it out generously so your children don't fight. You pretty much got that one right so I'm leaving it. I'm all grown up now so I get full from even watching, Again, you got it...remember he started rapping at 6 yrs old...so he doesn't really need an award to show that he's good. Just feed the younger ones. Again, pointing out that MaMa is catering to "their audience" tweens and teens (EXO and BTS (teen groups) were being "touted" as the ones who were going to win everything) August 18 of '88. BUT GD seems to be implying that he doesn't need a TV show to verify that he's the real deal and literally, no one is sure of how much money G-Dragon has....he's that rich. Gold watch and necklace is just cute. Again, referring to "wanna be" little kids trying to act like they are all that...when he's literally wearing over 50,000 in jewelry and designer clothes....easily. (PS. Note that V and Jimin both copied that jacket GD is wearing in their own stage/video performances). I always loved how Suga would talk about his $3 dollar jewelry...it set him apart from the wannabe's...but I digress, finally... This year passed and new year is snatching up. I'll share with you. He's so rich he can just throw his money (allowance) for all the little kids to fight over, literally calling it Dragon Money (a pun on the term for allowance, Koreans really like puns...) is just a cherry on the top of this diss. 2014 SoKor just escape the National Issue of Sewol using 2ne1 controversy. 2ne1 Crush Album is a big hit that time even overseas and YG dominated the charts Epik High Winner AKMU and Bobby in Show Me The Money.... YG got that year but during the awards nomination 2ne1 never got a single thing only SBS Inkigayo Gave them the Girl Group of the year award. 😭 so much that is why he diss Mama. After that Epik High once said that they will attend an award show that really acknowledges the worth of an artist than a no show no award program (intended to mama). 2015 was the last and biggest blow YG gave to MaMa 2ne1 surprise reunion, bigbang after made full album (so much again happened), iKON monster rookie after WINNER. Mino (Winner) and Bobby, BI (Ikon) they was in rappers competition Show me the money (SMTM) season 3 - Bobby was a winner, season 4 - Mino took 2nd place. And it's only 2 idols went so high. Actually they have come up a lot of shit, cause others participants look down on them cause they are idols. I really recommend to check that TV show if you want to go deeper in to K hiphop. there meet old and very new rappers, producers are top Korean rappers. In 4:51 group Epic High, they are not idols, but quality rappers, Tablo who sits in the middle is very good lyricist. (was in same company). Well MAMA is kinda shady award show, in past i liked to watch it but later i just dont watch it anymore, cause with votin seastem there are lots of shady thing... And later YGE jut stopped to send there own artists. Also Papa YG (ex main producer and creator of this company) always had bad relationships with MNET company. And now it becomes just kpop awards, in past it was music awards and there was many nominations for many genres, but lately other music genres took 10% nominations. when Bigbang was active there were still plenty hiphop, rnb nominations, but lately they make one award for them both and more later they put all idols in that nomination and even dont give a chance indi or underground artist who makes really good quality music... YGE is kinda different company, they start from bottom and come all the way to the top and that company is more orientated to quality and pushing artist to create by themselves. And they also not that strict with artist, maybe that's because artist have more scandals that other 🤣 so because they are very different and have scandals, other envious and hates them. They always say: oh they are so privileged... but company started from zero, Bigbang guys lived in awful flat and even starved in the beginning, but they earn all those moneys by themselves...
