Dash cam footage of a actual driving test in Kitchener for the G license. Hopes this helps some people doing their road test at the Kitchener driving test center.
@@f18superhornetcer78 yeah id have fought that. that's a money grab right there. being examined may have made you excited and when not being examined your driving perfectly fine. if you had no mistakes you should have passed there is no mental evaluation n driver training or during any of the written or driving tests.
I got the same examiner and the same route today. I passed on my first attempt he’s such a chill guy, which helped to calm any nervousness. Thanks for posting this video.
i got a girl that only dinged me for a roadside stop when i didn't put my parking brake on because i was not exiting the vehicle. I signaled put the 4 ways on put the vehicle in park and left the engine on which is perfect. She dinged me cause she said it was a road side park not stop, which was totally b.s. she said stop not park and i did as my instructor taught if it was a park i would have killed the engine and put the ebrake on
@@DavinderSingh-sn5ct i don't think they can legally disclose that information as it breaks the privacy of the instructor. You get who you get you can't request or they may take it as you know this person and send you somewhere else. the MTO site says you can record as long as the privacy is protected of the instructor/
Just wanted to say thank you for the video. I passed my G test today and while it was a totally different route, this helped calm my nerves many nights leading up to the road test. Cheers
Thank you so much ! I drive on this same route during my test ! Thank you 😊😊 i cleared my test in first attempt with help of this video ! Got G license 😻
Good work John. My sincere thanks to you!. Recently went through the video with every speed limit posted on your video and the same route and the same examiner for my G Test. I have had couple of attempts for G Test and got successful after I covered all my small mistakes. Instructor was very strict and he is doing him job very professionally and no excuse. 1. Maintain the correct speed with respect to location a. Highway max 90 km b. City 50 km if posted or follow 50 km(45 to 50 Km). This is very difficult for the driver and he has G2 for long time and forget about speed limit, c. some busy streets are 50 km (DON"T slow down). d. right speed when you exit from highway and do NOT speed > 50 km and slow down after the highway completion. Made mistake to go over 50 km in city zone. 2. Ever left turn should demonstrated changing to right immediately with blind check to make busy lane used for others. Candidate has to perform on his own without instructor telling to you!. This is important (given reason for the first failure). 3. Blind spot checking and making sure no thunderstorm on that drive test date to make the lane changes easier in the fairway road. 4. Make sure no vehicles are passing when you release emergency parking. Given warning! 4. Parallel parking done part of testing. In addition I stopped the vehicle with reserved park at the final parking placed and switched off engine obtain more confidence to instructor to release me the licence. Successful attempt made finally with greater patience. All the best for future G candidates. Practice well even if your very good driver to demonstrate test requirements.
Thank you sooo much for posting this!! I watched this before my Full G test and felt relaxed and confident knowing what route I should expect. I did my test today and passed!! Thank you for showing us how simple it really is!
Ariana B omg really congrats!! I need to book my g test still I'm so nervous I have to do it before December 11 that's when my licence up..how is the booking for the g is it over booked or could I just walk in ?
Babii Chyn thank you!!! And you are going to do great on your G! So book it on DriveTest.ca, and it should be about $90 to book and I recommend you do it ASAP because it’s a really really busy season! Like trust me do it today because it took me 2 months to get an appointment! If you book it for after your license expires, then you just need to go to the office and get an extension license and it will be valid until the day of your G test :) also when schedule it, you can go in and reschedule 3 times so you can see the available dates and times! Kept going in to check for an earlier date and I managed to get one because there was a cancellation! And for the test, I did highway, emergency road side stop, parallel park and 3 point turn! So if there’s anything you need to improve, now is the time :) but you got this!! You’ll be great!!
Lol when I was practicing for my road test, the weeks leading up to it I obsseively watched this video and studied every little thing because I was so nervous. Also I practiced this route multiple times a week. The actual test wasn't this route but I still passed. Thanks to this video I knew what to expect.
thank you for this video. i failed the first time as the instructor in my city was not clear when asking questions... especially the emergency road side parking. now i understand what is required. awesome... wish me luck in april. love love.
Sahil Kharidia No. It was under construction. I had to take another highway twice. The only thing to remember is to check the speed before merging on the highway.
I passed my G test yesterday!!! I was so stressed out 😭 I took the highway 7 east ramp to go on the highway and I could not safely change lanes as other drivers flew by me. I even had my left blinker on and the examiner told me to exit off the highway as he could tell I could not safely change lanes. We went on highway 7 west like you did and it wasn’t as busy and I was able to change lanes safely. I thought I was going to fail but drivers were just flying by to fast on highway 7 east and the examiner understood. I only did emergency parking, parallel and 3 point turn. Always make sure to move your head to check mirrors and blind spots. There watching for that. When you park at the centre, always back into a spot!! If you don’t and just pull into a parking spot, they will make you back up into a parking spot after the g test.
You have done good driving, I passed my g2 test on March 11 2020, did it in North Bay Ontario in a pick up truck, passed it on the first try too, my examiner was an older woman and she was really gorgeous too, I am a fully G licence driver now, going after my AZ trucking licence now
Everyone driving in this area, the point on the highway at 9:00 is really bad for accidents and is very dangerous, as you might be able to tell in this video. People on the far right are merging to the left while you could be merging to the right, right into them if you don't double check your blind spots and mirrors.
Did my G road test today passed and did a great job even tho I was waiting around for the examiner for 2 hours in 30+ weather lol the road test I did has 3 point turn, parallel parking, emergency parking, lane changes in city and on highway best advice I can give is relaxe and treat it as everyday driving and you should do fine
I failed my G Test because i "did not shoulder check enough" which is total bullshit i drove very well, the examiner was just a complete dickhead to me.
@@jonathansimard1323 If you didn't shoulder check enough you probably didn't do it for every turn you made, each of those turns lost you points. It doesn't matter if you did 100% in everything else. Shoulder checking 8 turns alone would be 2 points each for a total of 16 and after 30 points it's an instant fail. You only need a 70% to pass and each minor infraction is 2 points. They should've given you a copy of the report, and their should be approx 34 times you are supposed to shoulder check your blind-spot.
Hey ur video was great practice and probably the reason I passed my test yesterday but I had a different route. Did my emergency stop / 3 point / parallel park on montecalm then went onto the Ottawa 7 entrance like you but got off at courtland instead , got directly back on to go back to ottawa. Turned right on old chicopee to go around a block and then headed back to the drive centre on Ottawa. Same level of difficulty as urs :)
Wow this is like twice as long as my G was. For mine they got me to go on the 7 highway instead of 8 like this video and I got off at Victoria street and then just around the corner and back on the highway just off of Frederick right back to the Food basics plaza.
I enjoyed every bit of your driving test...you are a really good b*da** driver. You hit every note on that route. Can't fault you in one, even the common mistakes most make, you checked them. Congratulations. Be safe out there!👍
Holy shit, i'm actually so nervous watching this video. I tried three times to finally get my G2 License at this location. Even after 6 months of driving (commuting, grocery shopping or 401 to Toronto), I'm still so nervous when watching this. Hope I will do well when it's time to take the next Road Test.
Level One (Class G1) You must not drive on 400-series highways with a posted speed limit over 80km/h. Also, you must not drive on certain high-speed roads including the Queen Elizabeth Way, Don Valley Parkway and the Gardiner Expressway in the Greater Toronto Area, the E.C. Row Expressway in Windsor and the Conestoga Parkway in Kitchener-Waterloo. However, if your accompanying driver is a driving instructor, you may drive on any road. Hopefully you passed the g2 mate be careful if you get pulled over on any roads over 80 except in country as those are 80 with a g1 you'll lose it for up to three years. Here's hoping the best guys.
i failed and i thought it went really well, i had a different examiner. you have to follow everything so precisely, apparently i messed up on a bunch of stuff here's some of the list, i drove in the left lane down Ottawa and was supposed to be in the right, stopped over line, at some points apparently i didn't do a left right left check, complete turn: not by traffic speed? doesn't say if i was to slow or fast... lane change to fast, didnt check my mirrors every 5 seconds on highway, no blind spot check on roadside stop, not parallel on park... all i can say is read the book or they will call you on a bunch of bs! road positioning, signaling, speed, blind spot and left right left checks, etc...
Who was your examiner? Mine was a mean lady with blonde curly hair who said I wasn’t looking left, right and left while proceeding through an intersection. Said I did every other thing right except that! I honestly think there should be a way of appealing or challenging some of these results handed out by these examiners Cos they can be very biased and their assessment is subjective!
@@omalyn2081 i got my test results on a piece of paper, examiner # 525 , honestly i didnt do some of the things she said i did, you could get a dash cam that faces towards the road and towards yourself with sound (to hear the signals). then you will have undeniable evidence... oh ya i remember they said you cant have a dash cam that faces towards yourself! thats how they try to get you, but they dont know if its recording or not so just record anyways lol... $90 to retake the test! its all about the money!
Just did my G test today, it is a completely different route now! Same neighbourhood but different route. Practicing using this route still helped though. I passed!
@@dimitriosmalatches5522 haha aw man, your day started off bad but ended up being good! Congrats :) I hope insurance isn't too stingy with the claim tho
@@Hamza-gs7ik nah I don’t pay anything bc I didn’t cause it. Examiner was shocked at first as this was the first time it has happened to them but she was thrilled with how I handled the situation because we were about to turn I to the parking lot it happens their so I just walked in got my license and drive him with a dented bumper lol
this video made me happy lol i have mine tomorrow in a total different city i didnt see a video for and idk why im nervous and i BEEN driving for years with g2 every single day i might just make one lol
hey, at 19:52 when the examiner tells you to make a right turn...is it possible to make a right turn without the signal going green unless specified? in your case, you stopped and waited for the the signal to be green before proceeding but we can turn right while the signal is red right?
You need to stop on a red light and wait 2-3 seconds before you can make the right hand turn. In his case it was perfectly timed with the light turning green which was 100% coincidence.
Hi, John, in the 19 minutes 55 seconds video footage while you are taking right, then you make right after the signal green but I think we can make right turn if there is no trafic while red signal, could you please explain the actual sceniarion for that moment..but it's really great video for the test student..Good Job..
This route is different from the one my instructor took me on earlier this month, which is where you make a left from ottawa street onto highway 7 and then turn right on edna street onto the highway again and go back to the center. My test is in 2 weeks so can someone confirm which route might be on the test?
I heard the route has changed. did you go on the way in this video or the one your instructor took you ? please confirm I have my G in few days. thanks
Word of advice. Watch out for that left turn going out of the parking lot. There are no lights or stop signs. I failed twice because I accidentally cut someone off both times pulling out of there. Only reason I failed. Next test I’m doing somewhere else. My fault but still watch extra carefully on that turn
Quarter Mile The examiner clearly said in the video at 7:32, that it's 90 km/h on the Hwy. The current speed limit, unless otherwise posted, it's 50 km/h in the Suburbs. And, residential streets are probably 40 km/h or maybe 50 km/h. It's common sense lol.
Not from Kitchener, actually from Ottawa, ON but I'll probably be doing my G test in about a month or so. Nervous but idk.. if I get the same lady I did last time I'll feel much better.
Ottawa-Walkley class G drive test successful! Full dashcam video! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lb_aIZMwXiA.html don't know if this is your area but hope this helps.
They either make you reverse park or parallel park to show that you can drive in reverse. Sometimes if you park in reverse at the test site they won't make you parallel park.
When I did my G2 road test. My driving instructor told me to turn at the next intersection, but there was an issue. I couldn’t make out what he said. And I proceeded to ask him witch way he wanted me to turn. And he didn’t respond. So I had to guess. My driving instructor wasn’t very nice, and very nerve racking to drive with. I’m about the get my G licence. And I’m very nervous about it. I genuinely really wish I could have had this guy for my upcoming road test.
Jayskins Cristines pretty much exact same route just different side streets. You can rent a car from anywhere but I’d say get comfortable with it. You might be required to reverse. Etc,.
When you did the parallel parking test. did you line up your car mirrors with the other car mirrors? how far you beside the other car when you started to backwards I’m going for my g license soon. I notice I didn’t see the car, when you when you stoped.
Your driving test is similar to UK, accept we drive on the left side of the road. The driving test here last 40 minutes and you allow to make up to 15 minors fault (marks) and still pass your test. If you get one of those major fault (serious/dangerous) then you will failed the test immediately. Any repeat fault up to 4 minors in the same category will result in test failed. The current national UK driving test passed rate is 47%. This is what I did in driving test; Step 1: Introduce The examiner will call out your name and introduce themselves to you. He/she will asked for your provisional license (learner permit) and fill out the detail. Step 2: Eye sight test You will be ask to read number plate (licence plate) from 20 metres distances. You have 3 attempt to read the plate correctly, if not you will failed and the test will not go ahead. Step 3: Knowledge of vehicle Before driving, the examiner will give you inductions on how the test work. Then he/she will asked you 2 questions of "Show me, tell me" for example 1st Q: Can you show me how to check engine oil? then you have to explain to examiner. 2nd Q: How do you operate the horn? if you get those answer incorrect then you will lose 1 mark (1 minor). Step 3: Independent and sat navigation You will be driving independent about 20 minutes. This driving involved following the direction that given by examiner to follow the regulation and obey any traffic signs. After you complete independent driving you will be asked to following the direction on Sat Navigation. This will last another 20 minutes driving. Step 4: Manueuver During the driving test you will be ask to do 1 of 4 maneuver like Forward bay park, reverse bay park, pull up to the right and reverse 2 car length and parallel park. You will be ask to do one of these. Examiner expecting you to be accurate on these! Also you will be ask to do emergency stop. Step 5: End of the test After the test end, examiner will accumulate any driving fault (mark) that you have made. You will soon find out whether you pass or fail. If you pass the examiner will giving you passed certificate and giving you the advice on your further driving. If you fail, he/she will give you feedback and best advice on the area that you had failed.
Question- At 2:55 lanes were switched without the request from the instructor. I've been told not switch lane unless its the suggested by the instructor. Have I've been told wrong? Or is this instructor more lenient than others in Kitchener?
My instructor told me that when you take a left turn to come onto a road, you first move to the leftmost lane as per rule but for driving you have to be in the right lane until you have to take another left turn. So everytime you turn left, you yourself have to move to the right lane. Hope this helps.
@@shailjamehra Good luck. I failed my test. Instructor said I was a good driver and everything I did was great, he failed me because I didn't look enough in my blind spots...even though I thought I was apparently he didn't think it was enough. It sucks but I've rebooked for July.
@@sweetkz It sucks. So sorry to hear that. But don't loose heart. It means a lot if the instructor agrees that you are a good driver. May be it was just a bad luck. I will take a tip from you to exaggerate looking at the blind spots. Your focus is so much splitted in multiple things that it's hard to do everything perfectly. I am so nervous about my test on Friday. Wishing you luck for the next time. You have got that. 👍
