I was dealing with a narcissistic relationship when I discovered this song. I was in a dark place. made two attempts with a handgun. Over 2 years later I am recovering, finally able to listen to this song again. Hearing it again reminded me I am recovering. To all those out there in an abusive relationship, or even an abusive family situation, stay strong. Don't give up and stand your ground. YOU ARE NOT THE PROBLEM. Good people are fewer and fewer each day. Abusers see to that.

This song hit me the first time with toxic relationships and substance use. But it hits harder now im in recovery. The definition of insanity as defined in my groups is "doing the same thing and expecting different results." I did this with my tumultuous relationship and substance use.

It’s hard to be with someone that is hooked on drugs and your the opposite, you do what you can to hold on and hope the person changes. If true love fight for the one you love give that person a reason to give up the drugs. Addiction leads to depression and other problems. May the lord heal the pain of those who suffer.

She embraced all his habits (mixed with her own) and soon it was her downfall because he changed her (She adjusted herself for him as well, but now he doesn’t like the person she’s become. ) and whereas she’s having so much fun being high and out of her mind, now he doesn’t like her being like that anymore. At **2:50** the girl is high and just wants to have fun, but he’s sober and is serious. He tells her that even though she’s saying she’s here physically, she’s not truly here with him mentally because she’s high off her mind. Now he wants her to stop, but she’s not really ready to. Now she’s calling him boring because this what they used to do TOGETHER. THIS is what he loved to do. She changed herself, embraced his bad habits because she loved him. But now he doesn’t like this version of her. Mostly because he sees how it’s ruining her and how close to death she is because she’s overdoing it.
