Except it's not, his music style has changed completely, he has been developing this new G-Eazy style for a while, but "When is dark out" is the album where he became a relatively different artist, you have to admit that if you hear "Drifting" and "The Outsider" they sound like as if they were made by different people.
You have to have that mentality if that's what you're trying to achieve... Go watch his interviews. He said that not only him but every artist in the industry is trying to achieve what he wants. He wants to be the best and to be the best you have to put in the work. Look at professional athletes, especially the ones that do the most shit talking. They got to where they're at for a reason and there's a hell of a lot more to do with it than just having the physical characteristics to fit the job. Sure people talk about "class" and "morals" and that's all good and all but at the end of the day everybody thinks they're better than the next guy. If you don't you're not going anywhere.

Don't get me wrong. G-Eazy is dope but I honestly feel that Logic should be more known then G-Eazy simply because Logic is just a lyrical genius! G-Eazy has flow I'm not going to lie. I just personally like Logic better.

This whole album the one before this and the one after are all amazing I was listening to this since back when it first came out and I remember I knew geazy was always going to be one of the realest and biggest in the game and I've never stopped listening to him can't wait to see his next tour
