Yes, you can absolutely sand G FLEX. After it was cured I got rid of the high spots and gave it a light sanding to scuff it up and ready for the next steps.
I'm in this situation. My hole is about 4 inches back from the winch eyelet. Right on the V. I can assume it happened from hitting rocks beaching it over and over. The hole is much larger. Could put a golf ball inside if it wasn't for the the foam. Any suggestions or things I should do differently?
It's going to end up being a very similar repair. Not sure if you checked out my other waverunner videos, but all the info you should require will be in those videos. Ideally you would want to gain access from the backside to be able to laminate the repair, however we both know that isn't possible so just follow the steps I have outlined in the videos. Urethane primer, paint and clear to finish. Axalta brand is what I used. I usually use NAPA for all my paint needs. Yamaha uses urethane so I try to stay with OE brands.
Waxed cardboard has a waxy paste to them and I will stay away from that when working on stuff. But standard cardboard that I use daily, at least where I am located, I've never been concerned about. Just want to make sure it's clean.
