If there's 1 good thing I can take from growing up an extremely hard life, that shit gives you a champion mentality. I think the EXACT same way herb does, we damn near the same person. The struggle made me stronger than I could have imagined. I'm unbreakable and I'm honestly kind of grateful to have an extremely hard life.. It made me a man early and instilled discipline and values and taught me so many life lessons extremely early. I always was doing better than all my peers cause being broke asf and not having shit my whole childhood put a hunger in me that could never be quenched. I always strive for more and better and I'm grateful for everything and it's all thanks to the hood. "you can't go to heaven unless you been to hell first". That shit so true

I am a therapist who treats and diagnoses adolescents in California. PTSD is definitely not a diagnosis or any diagnosis for that fact to be clapping about. The symptoms and behaviors that constitute the diagnosis are life impairing. Children and people not just soldiers who have life severe trauma are usually dx with the disorder. It usually takes years of challenging work to overcome the impairments.

As a 51 year old I don't listen to a lot of new artists. But after hearing G Herbo on this episode I'm going to check him out. At the time he was in the streets, them lil dudes was outta control. As far as "Drill" music, he's right. They're just rapping. And they are rapping about shit they see and actually live. I love my city but it's fucked up. That's why G Herbo sound like a wise man at 28. Them young dudes seen a lot of horrible shit. Their childhood was life or death.
