Once again, apologies for several cuts, glitching, and chaotic audio😭 Thought about not posting because of all the issues but still wanted to feed the (G)I-DLE babes on the channel! Loved the album! Tell me what’s in your bag below and if you’re a tomboy👛 💅🏼

This album has no skip song. Each song has good writing, good music and a real meaning. Well...but maybe i'm not objective because i love them so much 🙂

I think they are all very good tracks🥰 it’s harder for me to digest these songs lyrically on first listen since there is a language barrier, but I really enjoy their vocals, production, and the lyrics I do understand and catch on first listen 🎧🥰

This is the 1st full album but not the 1st. They have many mini album and digital single before this. Fun fact, Yuqi wrote 'polaroid' and 'Lier' in this album. This album released their temper after Soojin leaved from the group. And Soojin is the member who likes to take Polaroid. Minnie wrote 'Already and 'Escape' And another was written by Soyeon.

I forgot about the lyrics to Already omg lol It's not about Soojin, they were all very close - our bias in particular, look up the word "Sooshu" whenever you feel like washing your eyes Nothing indicates there being any resentment between them. Quite the opposite, they seem to miss her a lot, as Escape and Polaroid indicate. Sorry for the essay, just didn't want you to think there was any bad blood between them and Soojin

Okay thanks so much for the comment!🥰💯 lots of people told me to think about soojin when listening to the album but didn’t give me any other context so I didn’t know what to think🤣🙈 I actually love reading this comments because they are so helpful to someone who is just discovering the group😍

Just to clarify, 'Already' has nothing to do with Soojin, lol. I recommend checking which member is behind each song before listening. (G)I-DLE has three writers/composers, each with their own unique style (with Soyeon having a particularly broad range). I’m not sure how familiar you are with each member's personality, but connecting their personal touch to their songs adds an extra layer of depth to each track in my opinion. I hope you manage to resolve your audio/video issues and continue reviewing the other albums.

Thanks for the updates! Love learning more about the group. Audio will be better for sure next time and I fixed my video delays😎 I stream on a laptop which isn’t the best for streaming/recording since it takes a lot of laptop power to do. Definitely want to upgrade to a desktop computer whenever I am able to🥰

Loved the reaction! I Never Die is a really good album in my opinion and Tomboy is probably my favorite track by them, maybe I'm biased since it's the first song I've ever heard by them, but let me get into the songs: Tomboy (written by Soyeon): Iconic. Is there really more to say? It's a brave song for kpop. The "fucking" and the line "It's neither man nor woman". They really asked to be canceled in Korea with these lyrics, but that was kinda the point. Soyeon said after the one year hiatus caused by Soojin's departure the future of the group was unclear. Cube is kinda known for ignoring the artists that don't give them money, so Soyeon knew this was their only chance at showing Cube that they are still relevant. They needed press and publicity. A little "scandal" and provocative lyrics were Soyeon's way to get people to talk about them and it worked. Tomboy was huge, everybody talked about it. Their biggest hit ever at that time Never Stop Me (written by Soyeon): Another one of my favorites. I don't necessarily think it's about femininity. It's still an edgy look with smoky eyes and a leather jacket. Kinda rocky? I think men in Korea prefer delicate feminine women. My personal view is that Soyeon and a possible ex probably broke up because she wasn't feminine enough for him? That would fit within the idea of Tomboy that kinda talks about the same theme of Soyeon embracing her Tomboy despite what people might think. The live clip they did for this is really cool too. I recommend that you give it a watch on your own. They all look so good in it. Villian Dies (written by Soyeon): I think that's a song Soyeon wrote about the Soojin situation even though I struggle at explaining it. I think the message is that they are perceived as villians by the media, but are actually the good ones? I'm not sure how to put it, but it always makes me think about Soojin and how she was falsely accused of being a bully and the media believing the girl that accused her of it instead of beliving the group. Already (written by Minnie): I think it's a breakup song Minnie wrote about an ex. Kpop idols are not really allowed to publicly date, so there's no information about her love life, but the lyrics kinda give it away. It's a good song. Don't think I have anything to add here. Definitely not about Soojin. Polaroid (written by Yuqi): This on the other hand is definitely about Soojin. Soojin was known to carry her polaroid camera with her and always took photos of the members with it. She decorated her room with them and also had a polaroid of her and Shuhua in her phone case. I think Yuqi is reflecting on all the positive memories they made together and the hardships that came with the scandal. Escape (written by Minnie): Minnie said in an interview that she wrote it for a friend who was going through a hard time. Can't get more obvious than that. It's definitely about Soojin. I think it's a really sweet song that shows how much Minnie cares about Soojin and that they can always count on each other even in the worst times. Liar (written by Yuqi): I'll just quote Yuqi on that one, because I'm not sure: "Liar is a song for people who tell us that we’ve changed. The song says that we were always like this, and we want to show more of ourselves to the people." Soyeon wrote her rap in the song tho and I think her rap is definitely about the same ex she possibly wrote Tomboy and Never Stop Me about. One of my favorite Yuqi produced songs ever. I love the rock influence and the guitar. My Bag (written by Soyeon): This is a song in which Soyeon is flexing her members. They are the red five diamonds in her bag. The use of five is in fact interesting since Soyeon having five diamonds in her bag is implying that Soojin is still part of them. I mean she can't have herself in her bag, right? I really like that inclusion of Soojin here. The song is also really iconic and I love how every member gets their time to shine in the song, basically singing/rapping about their strenghts and how amazing they are. Soyeon wrote their verses specifically for them, so it all feels really authentic and fitting for each member. Minnie and Yuqi's verses are my personal favorites here. That's my interpretation/knowledge about these tracks. I tried to keep it short, not go into detail and look up more interview quotes to put here, because this comment is way too long already. The album title is very fitting in my opinion. Coming back with an album called I NEVER DIE after being on hiatus for over a year and the media basically saying your career is dead is just icon behavior. I also like that it's fitting with their theme of naming all of their seven mini albums from debut til now something with I at the beginnig (I am, I made, I trust, I burn, I love, I feel, I sway). I was actually kinda sad when I saw that their second full album that came out in January was just called "2", but it's okay. The album being absolutely fantastic makes up for it. (There's also their English mini album called Heat, but I think it's fine that it didn't have an I title since it was not written by the members and promoted as a special EP). Everybody is welcomed to add something to my interpretations. I love talking about Gidles music and hear other point of views about the songs/lyrics

Adding to My Bag, at her 2022 MAMA live performance Soyeon specifically calls out 4 of the 5 red diamonds as her members and calls the other scary. After that she calls herself a Lion Queen and then disses the award show. So it's sure she talks about Soojin.

Several things happened with this comeback. Soojin was UN-FAIRLY judged by Cube and some so-called 'fans' about an accusation of bullying from way back when she was in middle school, HALF HER LIFE AGO. She got kicked out of the group and then eventually fired from Cube. This made all of the members PISSED OFF at their own company. This could have been a death knell for the group and the rest of the members. Things were still happening around them, 'business as usual' because the world must continue on whether they continued or not. It has become abundantly clear since the incident that ALL of these ladies have been put under a Gag Order, just straight-up NOT ALLOWED TO TALK ABOUT IT. Some members went home (Minnie did a few vlogs while she was back at her parents' house in Thailand), some kept working and writing. Soyeon dropped another solo project album (Windy). She went on an Interview show, Showterview, to promote the solo project. Jessi was the host of Showterview at the time. Most videos of interviews on Showterview can be 20, 30, even 45 minutes long (and that is after being cut down for odd stuff happening in live settings...) but Soyeon's interview video was a whopping 15 minutes, the shortest interview video in Showterview history. Apparently that is because Soyeon broke down crying while being interviewed and they had to cut all of that out. She was not allowed to show any emotions like that because at the time, NOBODY knew what Cube was doing. When the interview video aired, people thought Soyeon was boring or something because the video was so short. They had no idea until way later; Soyeon was going through a really hard time, knowing all the things she knew about Soojin's case. She knew what Cube was doing to basically cover their own asses, instead of taking all the steps necessary in defending their own employee. So when the group made this comeback with I Never Die a YEAR later, they hated being there. They were still relevant, every ACTUAL FAN still loves them, but they were ROYALLY PISSED OFF at their own Company. Cube did Soojin DIRTY and alll the members know it. They have been counting down the days until their contracts will expire. STILL TO THIS DAY, Cube Entertainment is trying to cover their own asses. They cannot possibly admit to doing anything wrong, such as mistakenly jumping the gun and FIRING AN INNOCENT WOMAN, as the court case officially turned out. The mere accusation of bullying got her fired with no proof to be had of any guilt, they just instantly kicked her out without trial. The actual real court proceedings proved Cube wrong about Soojin's guilt but of course Cube Execs CANNOT ADMIT to any wrongdoing on their own part, so they are still trying to get Soojinn BLACK-LISTED from the entire Entertainment Industry in Korea (that way she has no chance to tell her full story, so Cube can't get blamed for the filthy shit they did). Real fans were worried about Soojin for a long time. But she did eventually (two years later) have a debut as a Soloist and it was really good, but there has been nothing since (pointing to Cube's influence in having her blacklisted). CUBE ENTERTAINMENT SUCKS! All of the Execs and Managers need to go bankrupt and live in the street, get publically humiliated like what they have done to so many of their own artists! These were people that Cube were supposed to help and protect, but instead Cube found new ways to screw them over. All the actual workers (staff, support workers, Wardrobe, Stylists, Producers, Set Designers, Writers, etc) need to be protected because they still do the jobs they are supposed to do. The office-politics bullshitters need to lose EVERYTHING THEY EVER WORKED FOR and be thrown under the troll bridge. Things are finally coming to a head now between (G)I-DLE members and Cube.

@@toolertotmusicbox Yeah, sorry it is so long. That's actually the trimmed-down version from my earliest attempts to explain the whole fiasco. I almost write a full dissertation when I get really mad about it... lol It's EASY for me to get mad about it for a couple of reasons. I was bullied, I HATE bullies, I HATE trolls and I love Soojin (I am totally OT6 for this group). Anyway, Soojin is actually a SWEETHEART so there is no way she did what she was accused of. Cube had told fans they would perform an investigation, but really they didn't. They talked to Soojin ONCE, and she realized they were going to cook her anyway. She took to social media to defend herself since Cube obviously was not going to. She told the story, every little detail of what she was ACTUALLY guilty of (acting out like teenagers do) and she even apologized for those parts, but she was NOT the bully in the situation. The court case later proved what she said was true and the person who accused her was in the wrong from the start. But it was far too late, more than a year after Soojin got fired. Obviously that court case happened long after she had been kicked from the group in disgrace, dragged through the mud, fired, dragged through the mud some more. Her accuser never got the backlash that Soojin got from the instant she was accused. Go figure. Completely un-fair to all of the girls, and Cube was at the center of the problem.

In my thought: tomboy in this song don't mean about feminine or masculine, it's about "no gender boundary" Most important lyric is "you get the song right, you'll get what i mean tomboy, It's neither man nor woman, just me i-dle" that mean "no matter what your gender is, just be yourself, i'll do anything what i want without gender boundary" That's why song's name "tomboy" sound like masculine but thair costume more like feminine because tomboy in this song don't mean masculine woman, i just do what i want

In the song TOMBOY, Jeon Soyeon says. 우리의 마음을 향한 (G)I-dle 아이들만의 독특하고 용감한 태도를 강조한 곡이다. 직설적이고 직설적인 가사를 통해 '나는 나일 뿐이야'라는 메시지를 담아냈고, 그 어떤 기준도 나와 일치할 수 없다. and that meaning This song emphasizes (G)I-DLE unique and brave attitude towards our hearts. Through the straightforward and straightforward lyrics, the message 'I'm just me' is conveyed, and no standard can match me.

now who told her to listen to some of these songs with soojin in mind and didn’t give her ANY CONTEXT 😂😂😭😭 love your gidle reactions btw!!! if you react to some of their older variety, interview, and livestream content you’ll know how soojin is someone the girls love and cherish dearly. fans suspect that most of the lyrics for this album (and some future comebacks) were a homage towards her there’s a lot of different lyrics throughout the album that would hint in support of soojin but one fan speculation is that soyeon says “5 diamonds in my bag” so that means shes the one holding the bag. in the song we only got to hear 4 members “boast” about themselves on why they’re diamonds but we didn’t get to hear the last one 🥹
