"Beam Beam"... I think it's saying that adulthood is unrelentless like the summer sun. There are things that you can do to stave it off, like jumping into the swimming pool or riding your skateboard (Soyeon rode her long board daily while working on this album) to let the wind cool you, but adulthood is coming. Windy album launch in the time the IDLE stopped the activity from Soojin controversy So I think all lyric in the album may be expressed her feeling at that time.
Interestingly enough people didnt like the chorus drop in Quit but that is the main highlight for me. That beat is filthy in the best way possible. Psycho and the stage for the concert are exactly why Soyeon is a creative genius. Very few people in K-pop are able to command a stage alone but she captivates you with her concept and then kills you with her expressions. Lee Youngji is probably one of the best rappers in Korea (not just female). She won Show me the Money Season 11 (or 12 not sure). Funnily enough she works more as a variety star than as a rapper because she is really funny and outgoing as well.
I have such a hard time seeing anyone not liking the chorus drop in Quit it was disgustingly good. Yeah to be able to fill an arena like that with her presence alone is just so impressive. She has an absurdly good rap flow, I might have to check out more of her stuff!
i was there for her psycho performance, it was incredible. her charisma is off the charts!! will you be reacting to Miyeon's 'MY' album anytime soon? probably my favorite solo project from i-dle!!

Young ji's verse is great hey. Man that performance of psycho was really good, id seen it before but only a fan cam version. The whole Seoul concert was done with live band, the remixxed instrumental were fantastic

i was there for both days watching minnie performing dahlia and soyeon performing psycho and you had no idea how shocked & touched am i. nearly crying cause miyeon will perform 1st with her drive(we all had seen her performed drive before so thats not quite shocked but she's pretty tbh) but next person is minnie with dahlia and then soyeon with psycho i cant even breathe because there's no rest inbetween 🥹
If you want REALLY REALLY great stomps for the BEAM BEAM choreo... you definitely need to check out: 전소연(JEON SOYEON) - '삠삠 (BEAM BEAM)' Choreography Video (CEO Ver.) The stomps are WILDLY good. I don't think I've run across a choreo version from any group with more satisfying ones. lol Thank goodness Soyeon loves her platform shoes, right? :D This album has some of my favourite raps from Soyeon on it... particularly Psycho & Bad B Number. Girl is just a demon. Love her!
The girl she bumped into and had the dance battle with was Lee Young Ji, next to Soyeon she's the best rapper around. You definitely want to go down that rabbit hole. She is a BEAST. She's the pink haired girl in Is this bad b###h number
I think you are underrating Beam Beam greatly. Yeah, I know you love it, and i am being very relative when I say underrating (and its just an opinion, of course, no offense, just friendly discussion), but that was far from what you would expect from an Idol or commercial (and yes, I realize it is more in that line than bad bitch). It is a rather complex song. It feels simple and catchy on the surface, but it is anything but. It has lyrics about the inconveniences and positives of adulthood with a sound that is filled with hope and, more importantly, humour and sarcasm. The MV is also very appropiate. It has that Clerks 90s youth´s first job on a burger vibe, facing the first serious responsabilities of growing up, while still being a bit rebelious and mischivious. Like you picked up very well, it is like summer. It is colorful and bright, but it is also very hot and uncorfotable. What do you do then? Well, you make a splash in the swimming pool, that is what you do. The immagery, the slight edge, the attitude, the off beats that express the contradictionary nature of becoming an adult, the humour... Wheter it is the best song on the album is debatable, but I disagree with your take of it being a catchy commercial song. It is clever as hell. BUt hey... opinions. ;) IT is also a beautifully structured album, like all of hers and Idles. You got two songs about summer and weather, one hopefull and happy with an edge and the other more ambiguous albeit with a sadder undertone and dark, and two songs about break up, one hopefull with and edge and another more morally ambiguous, albeit a happier undertone. And both Weather and Psycho end very similarly, with a realization almos a cappela, one a bit sadder abouth her weather being rainy, the other happier accepting that she is a psycho. And a final song. The first and the last one both bookend the EP bu being both edgy and rebellious, but in almost opposite ways. Playfull and sarcastic one, on your face the other. Not the first nor the last time with Idle, after all Oh MY GOd was about giving yourself to somebody else even if that meant ruin and Lion about being the absolute Queen like a lion, and Hann was about the sadness and regret of break up and Dhalia was about entering in a new relationship despite the risks in hope and believe (with the nice adding that the tt was about a flower and fire and dhalia is not just another flowr, but one heavily related to the sun and light, another nice contrast to the winter in Hann), like here, complementing but opposing each other. IT also flows beautifully. You go from the humorous brightness of BEam Beam to the ambiguity of Weather, the even harsher ambiguity of Quit, the darker edge of Psycho and the real Idgaf edge of Bad BItch. YOu could almost see it as a story about somebody starting adulthood with hopeful doubts and her transitioning from the ambiguities of self doubt and first steps in afirmation to full acceptance and fuck it all ending of this is me, adult world, deal with it.

Not sure if you have reacted to Yuqi and Miyeon's song Sweet Dream. . That's what made me discover GIDLE after watching “Love To hate you” (kdrama) you as it was the Sound track.
Windy has a TON of great promotional material. The two part mini doc Blooming Windy Day is a must, and the teasers were a ton of fun, including that one interview where Soyeon played three characters.
