G&L ASAT Deluxe Special 

I’ve had one for about 6yrs. G&L is criminally underrated. Absolute gem of a guitar.

I played one of these at Sam Ash Hollywood many years ago. Best-sounding guitar I ever heard. Saving my money to buy one.

I bought one in 1986 - and I'll never let it go. My favorite guitar by far.

Hey Jonathan, I just bought the G&L Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Special from SWEETWATER after I watched your video. I am used to playing FENDERs. But this one hit it out of the park for me. The finish is just excellent. The clarity of each note on both pickups is mind-blowingly awesome. I am HUGE FAN of your playing style. Hope to get as good some day ..... Rock on brother !!

Very nice Jonathan, sounded excellent with the Treble and Presence backed off. You're really getting my interest going in checking out G & L Guitars. Been a few decades since I've touched one always seem to be going to my Custom Strats and Les Paul's I modified plus my Vintage Electra Phoenix X100n and X100VW Guitars. Would love to see one of these G & L;'s in a Classic 2 Tone Burst and maybe install a TBX mid booster.

Great Jam and cool riffs as always Jonathan. I really like the telecaster style of guitars. I don't have one .... yet..... I think I need to have the right to own such a prestigious and iconic Guitar! Haha!

The usual great content, Jonathan. You make that guitar sing. I have the Korean version of this guitar with a pearl pick guard and a satin neck. It's unlike any of my other guitars in a good way. Many thanks.

On G&L guitars, if you can see the wood grain, it's usually swamp ash; otherwise, it's alder, basswood, mahogany, etc.

Cool bass line too. Would love to see tabs for that!!

really nice guitars, I mention Jonathan have you tried the Vintage JHS guitars , I tried a few here in town and I was really impressed at the quality and tone, but it would be interesting from a professional's point of view, but G&L are amazing value and sounding guitars, but also the chap playing the guitar he is pretty damn good too :)

Interesting how the Tribute that you reviewed about a year later sounded (IMO) much better than this Deluxe. Goes to show how one's amp, and effects (and possibly recording technique) can have a profound effect on an instrument's tone. OR, did the Tribute actually sound better? 🙂

Jonathan, I believe the color of this model is 3-tone Sunburst, not Old School Tobacco Sunburst as you state. I apologize if I'm wrong about that.

Jonathan you are around the same age as me, back in the 80's was the guitar known as the GL and not the G&L in your neck of the woods?, I ask this as it was known as GL in my circles. The headstock is labeled G (Clef) L and I believe the & was inserted between the GL when these guitars began to be written about on the internet.

I wonder why they didnt throw in a phase reverse position so you could choose the s-type middle position sound?

I'm not much of a Telecaster guy, but damn these are cool. I see one for sale in my area and I am very curious. 8 pounds isn't a bad weight for a Tele right? Is this a good guitar for punk/rock? I usually use a good dose of distortion.

I believe its good, my only concern is this is obviously a sponsored channel as no one could afford all these guitars he reviews and he acts like EVERY guitar is great. Yes most are well made but he acts like all of them are good.

good review! but iam not a fan of these "fat" pickuos, they look so out of place, also the sound is not mine.... between a 90 and a humbucker with a bit lipstick on top. not a fan. its too "smooth" for my grumpy ears :D the bridge mmmaaaa not a fan either. the thing is like a mix of "old concepts" that no one wanted back then so they try to sell it now :D i hope you dont hate me........ i just dont like that guitar at all! BUT your playing is as alleys sweet as a cherry pie ;) thx buddy
