I am severely visually impaired and I have Asperger's syndrome, and I love doing martial arts. It makes me furious when people don't even try to understand what a disability is about and don't allow us things that we would perfectly be able to do. But I'm really glad when I see people like him standing up for themselves and succeeding! Keep on fighting! 😎

Here are two young men refusing to allow someone tell them that they can't follow their dream. I'd call that an inspiration, wouldn't you? Do you know where the richest place on Earth is? It's a graveyard. More unrealized dreams inventions, ideas are there, then anywhere on Earth... These two men are a tribute to how powerful the Human Spirit is... It's sad that more people do not realize that this same spirit exists with in each and every one of us... Those who say they "Can" and those who say they "Can't" are both usually right. I’ve never seen a dad more proud of his son. My goodness that gave me chills throughout my entire body seeing his dad run up yelling and picking him up. Even when they were announcing the winner the dad was literally bouncing up and down in excitement, pure love right there.

Rosco Pico yes we shouldn’t feel sympathy but this persons simply expressing that they are proud for them much like you show pride for a child or a loved one. Also many people show hate towards people with disabilities in this case Down syndrome and to overcome some of society’s hate and he has almost surely come across people trying to tell him he can’t do this and that he’s not capable now I’m not saying that’s the case but it’s most likely, and yes I’m also proud of him so before you go just criticise peoples comments on congratulating someone’s success. They didn’t say anything about him being Down syndrome thats just you assuming that

As a martial artist with over 2 decades of experience I applaud this young man and his father. He showed far more fighting skills than 99% of "normal" people with no training. I think that is what bothers the haters so much, that someone with down syndrome can potentially kick their sorry asses.

thanks for this video! I have asperger syndrome and really enjoy my new found muay thai. I found muay thai incredibly empowering and it helps me escape my limitations socially and with anxiety. I found people at muay thai training treat me the way I want to be treated. fighting takes away my social anxiety. fighting is very inclusive. nobody at muay thai trash talks disabled people who can do the training and keep going. it shows heart. most people quit.

Amazing. It's hard to see a disabled person get hurt. But he's his own person like everyone else and he should be able to pursue his own dreams. He's a grown man, regardless of his disability and this a sport for men. Freaking love this guy

I've trained mma...I don't just talk about it...if you haven't done it before you won't have the stamina to beat "g money" even if you run/lift weights daily....unless you train as a fighter you won't understand the type of stamina it requires.

SlovakiaShark they obviously have never ever ever had any experience in fighting...if the RU-vid commentors came to training with us they would be defeated by padwork in the first 45 minuets....I've tested lots of "mma fanatics" on RU-vid and most of them have no idea of reality....they had a "fight" once in high school against anouther weekling but never actually trained due to lack of "heart" or simply physicly unable.

Every person I know with down syndrome, cerebral palsy, or even autism has crazy super human strength. You ever tried holding one of them back? They got crazy strength. You can imagine if they actually hit you as a trained fighter? Wooo!!! Lights out!! I am really inspired with them for going for what they want. My uncle had a severe case of cerebral palsy, but that didn't stop him... he ended up getting 3 bachelors degrees in college. Was told he would die at a young age, dude died at 64. He never let anything hold him back from a semi normal life. He truly was an inspiration.

I’m so happy Garret has been able to fight. He’s 2-1 against David Steffan. I want everyone to think about this. Garret is ranked #29 out of 134 in Kansas - Missouri. He’s also ranked #154 out of 573 in the Midwest. In the amateur ranks. That’s really saying something.
