@@alviisland6496 I think the guitars they're using plays a huge role in their sound. I believe they're using baritone 6 strings. I think one of them is using a Squire Baritone Jazzmaster and the other is using a Fender VI bass

"Plan time for mistakes to happen." Might be the best piece of advice I've heard. So simple and seems so obvious and yet we all tend to forget, don't we?

I see comments about the tone being Neural, but I was more blown away by the Lepou hybrit! It was one of my first free amp sims when I got started on this journey. Wow.

Dude, I love your videos and general vibe. Thanks for taking the time out. Beyond excited for your podcast with URM! Hope you're doing good mate. Would love some ideas on how to get into a rhythm as I have great ideas sometimes but I don't have that quite nailed 'on-tap' yet. The veil is starting to lift on it though especially as I'm writing short tracks at least 2-3 times a month now. I need to be able to write an idea in an hour but I hate hearing it before it's fleshed out (edited, rough fx, mix, master). I have a lot to learn!

it's amazing that such amazing sounding records are now made with software amps, goes to show how far we've come from tube amps and how cool it is that we can have a super massive insane guitar tone stocked in a hard drive.

Thank you for sharing these trade secrets, George! "I Let It In..." was without a doubt my favorite album last year, in no small part due to your phenomenal production. Checking out Neural DSP as we speak!

Honestly, your Sub mix style and the pre made automation done for the sections in the song has been the most sound advice I've taken in awhile. In finding work, Apply, apply, apply. Don't stop working on material that you can showcase with and try not to be exclusive to one studio. Be flexible and don't burn bridges.

I literally just finished school, and I myself was wondering how to get find work even in a time like this, so it helps to know that all of that time working on Pro Tools is going to pay off! I know I’ve probably got a ways to go before I can call myself a MASTER, but I’d like to think I’ve got a good start. It’s always good to hear advice like this! Loving Loathe’s tones and to know you helped them find that sound is so cool! Keep up the good work!

Keep going dude. Pick up the jobs that people don’t like and find a way to turn them into an art form. Once you’re impossible to replace at that role you’ll have a job that sells itself.

Man, I Let it in and it took everything quickly became one of my top albums. I have to say your advice in this video with regards to song writing feels so significant for me. I have hundreds upon hundreds of songs that are half to three quarters finished. I never finish writing entirely. I always think "is this the sound I want for my MY project?" and I abandon and start fresh. I miss when I was an outgoing teenager in bands and working with other people made writing less paralyzing because it belongs to the group. I also get paralyzed because I do so many different genres, from Neurobass to Grindcore.. but everything is half finished. I get scared to strip back songs because Ill lose a specific "magic" that that take had (I think that is all in my head) But yeah... i need routine, and need to finish writing before messing around with other aspects of the tracks. Thanks for this video. Liked and subbed! :)

Hope you’re still on the grind, and don’t think you MUST lose the magic of the individual track. If it sounds good, it’s a good song 😁

I used the HyBrit for cleans on my first album because it has a really nice sound to it but, I was *blown the fuck away* when I heard that it was used on Two-Way Mirror. Here I was thinking there was no way Loathe didn't use Mesa or Orange.

Would you do a QNA video on sundowning? My questions would be about the way you miced the drums, if anything worth of note. I know for JAWS you mentioned using a 414 on the snare. I wondered if you did the same thing with the VK bell bronze? thanks lad

Reppin' that Ghost hat, I see you. How do most audio engineers get paid? Is it on a per hour basis, per track, per minute, or etc?
@GeorgeLeverG1
@GeorgeLeverG1 4 года назад
We get paid based upon how we choose to charge! Hourly / daily / per project. It’s very flexible. Up to the person.

Officially done lusting after real amps and kempers and axe fx etc. If you can get those tones out of plugins, then they are no longer the bottle neck for a great tone.
@GeorgeLeverG1
@GeorgeLeverG1 3 года назад
IMO big ol tubey boys still have their place - more so when tracking direct and working to tape and committing rather than a post process like with reamping.

@@GeorgeLeverG1 Saw your vid for URM about your process with ditching the Kemper. Seems like a very effective way of working! I like that your approach is very goal-oriented and not too hung up on the method.
