I love how people ask themselves why the G11 exists in this game while it was designed only a couple of years after the events, but they don't ask themselves why CoD gives us RPK's in the 1960's and RPD's in 2016 (MW2).
because the G11 simply wasnt invented in the time period it was set in. plus the PROTOTYPE was made in 1970, at least 5 years after black ops 1. and the first time it would have been used in a real life combat scenario would have been earliest 1980's i do see your point about the RPK but another reason behind it is that the G11, due to using a unique ammo type, probably wouldnt be around for to long. also, the point you made about the RPD is that some guns are just so good and reliable to not be used. and plus being a fairly cost effective weapon, it probably would be used by rebel fighters and 3rd world armies.
Spas12 was invented in the 80s and appears in 60s/70s campaign but it is still one of my fav guns, G11 is another fav, Ive always preferred the different interesing guns over the boring same old guns that appear in every cod
6 years after and even though I haven't played a COD game in many years, your weapon guides are still fantastic to watch and bring me back to the good days.
Best burst weapon in the BO series hands down. This gun way better than the M8. It has no recoil, more bullets, good iron sights and a higher rate of fire.
I love the little jokes at the end of the videos, especially this one. "Killstreaks in heaven", probably because the weapon was never properly instated, it died, "went to heaven".
Most people would refer to both the G11's magaine and the P90 magazine as "box" magazines. A "tube" magazine would be something like the round, well, tubes of pump action and lever action guns, where the charges are end-to-end rather than side-by-side in the magazine.
If you go off of aesthetics? The PP-19 Bizon has a tube magazine, any Calico firearm has a tube magazine. The G11 has a box magazine, same as the P90, although elongated
JENS DAEMS Worth mentioning that it's a bullpup rifle, according to some people. And yup, there isn't a rifle that can carry 45-50 rounds on top of them, either(caseless to that). It's the G11's unique traits that have me loving it(and since I first met it back in Syphon Filter 2 as the H11, I know the gun quite well). Shame that it's never seen again after some time...
***** Really? Hmm.... But then again, I do know that you can place 2 spare magazines on the gun itself, side by side with the the magazine already loaded into the gun(allowing for faster reloading, but seems a bit difficult to do so without dropping them). That, and you can even attach a bayonet, too. But other than that, only early prototype G11s can load up to 50 rounds, and the later models(G11K2), 45 rounds.
A couple of years ago my company went to the HK German HQ and production site for a field tour. Held one of the G11 prototypes. Wonderful piece of engineering. We asked if they were ever plans to revive the G11 project. Unfortunately our tour guide informed us that the developers responsible for the G11 left the company and took all their patents and plans for the caseless ammo with them. So it's pretty unlikely to see a revival of the G11 from HK any time soon.
I think one of the reasons why the G11 in-game can't share the same attachments as the other assault rifles (other than realism) is balance. Think about it. Putting Extended Mags plus a Suppressor or one of the underbarrels is a deadly thing to encounter.
Alexander Bringt The rounds are loaded in like they are in any other firearm. But the magazine slides in parallel to the barrel instead of perpendicular, so the bullets are perpendicular to the barrel. The twist is what chambers the first round, similarly to retracting the bolt on the other rifles to chamber their first round, or using the slide on a 1911.
He uses the tune 'Blackbird' from Blops (artist is Sean Murray). He 3edits it somewhere in the middle to lengthen to his video's overall length and we never notice the seams. I'm impressed with it. :)
Stu, I want to thank you for coming back and finishing this series. I've been watching since the MW2 guides, and it's nice that only did you finish the MW3 guides, but Black Ops as well. Your work has improved the skills of many players (myself included), and I look forward to seeing your next series. Thank You!
I can't say I've seen any of the other clips in the series. Hell, I don't even play Call of Duty anymore, but the quality of this video is much more than I had expected. Using those endgame killcams made for solid close! Brilliant!
Thank you for making all these guides. Having listened to them all with great gusto, I must say it was a great pleasure to listen to each and everyone of them. I enjoyed listening to each and every one of them and want to congratulate you on this very fine work!
My favorite G11 class is a lot like all my classes but can be used better with getting many kills with out dying. I use G11 no attachments and flak jacket, sleight of hand for reloading and aim down sight, and any third perk but I use ninja/dead silence to not be heard up close and easily kills up close. over half the games I played with this class I got all killstreaks (Napalm strike, chopper gunner, and DOGS. I think that's good for not having Hardline Pro because Im used to always having Hardline Pro.
It would've been cool to see if Germany had put this into full production instead of the G36 and the US had switched to the M8 rifles instead of the M4/M16.
It's no so much the exact model but more the gas piston and direct impingement systems that the platform uses which make it so popular with different armed forces of the world, even the Germans has adopted it in the HK416 because the G36 had so many issues of it overheating causing the frame to warp.
for a good while there i thought this was a legit, military channel special about the weapons used in the game till you were talking about the mini map being obscured. you sir, are amazing and give so much credibility to your vids
Swear, German Engineering never ceases to amaze me when it comes to their weaponry arsenal. From the Karabiner 98 Kurtz and Sturmgewher 44 Assault Rifles to the experimental G11 and eventually, in my personal opinion, the best looking assault rifle in existence. The Gewher-36, specifically the Export model with its sleek design and the civilian model of the SL8. I bet if Ahoy would do some kind of documentary of German weapons, he'd make a killing as an advertiser!
Congrats on finishing the weapon guides, Stuart! I've watched all of them and the production value is incredible. Best wished for Black Ops 2, no doubt your weapon guides on that game will be brilliant.
Congrats on finishing the Black Ops weapon guide. Hope the next one doesn't give you too much trouble. Will be looking forward to the guide for the HK XM8.
The Variable Zoom scope is far superior than the Low power scope on this weapon because you can just set the zoom to acog levels and are given the option to old your breath to better aim, not to mention that the scope itself is better than the symbol on the other one.
2 more things you didn't mention about the low power scope: 1) Unlike other types of sway the screen doesn't move, only the reticle and scope, this makes a big difference in how it plays. 2) The sway is reduced when you crouch or go prone (most for prone), which makes a HUGE difference at long range. My favorite gun and attachment by far!
I haven't played Black Ops in awhile but I've been waiting for your review of the G11 for awhile as it is one of my favorite guns. We agree on the first two perks but I find that Marathon can be a very useful third perk as I often use this gun for longer range situations and switch fire positions often.
The FAMAS, which started testing in 1967 but only entered service in 1978, three years after the conclusion of Vietnam. The MP5k, first introduced in 1976. The M249 SAW (in singleplayer, Vorkuta) which was first used in 1984. The CZ75, first introduced in 1976. There are probably more but you get the point (I hope).

Excellent job on the whole series, Stuart. I bet it's a big weight off your shoulders to finally get this project done. And I'm sure you're happy to not have to play Black Ops any more. I know I enjoyed it a lot, but I have days' worth of play time on it and am pretty sick of it all, you must feel the same way. Looking forward to your Black Ops 2 guides. I'm also really looking forward to playing Black Ops 2!
The magazine of the G11 stores the ammo perpendicular to the barrel (like in the P90) and part of the G11's firing cycle is to rotate the extracted round so that it can be loaded into the barrel (in the P90 this function is performed by the mag, rather than the weapon).
one of my favorite videos of yours is your class set up for the M60. It is a beast juggernaut like class. Cant wait to see your first weapon guide on BO2. Want to see your class set up for the remington 870.
Great series, you provide some of the best production quality videos in the RU-vid gaming community. One question: Do you play Halo? If so, are you going to buy and play Halo 4? It comes out before Black Ops 2, Stu... you know you want to.
Hey man. Thanks. This was a great show, and I hope you get to make more of these with the oncoming games. I also wish you have a great time off (if you have any) till Black Ops II comes out!!! Until then. Farewell my friend!
