I worked at a local college and one of the motor vehicle teachers used to have several cars. I was always amazed at the condition of them. All fairly old but his attitude was first give the car a suspension refresh all the rubbers etc. he said single most improvement to an old car. New brakes all round, rebuilt calipers. I drove one of his Ford focus 1.6 with 140k on it drove like a new car. Yes he had the skills and the equipment at the college but this could be the way forward instead of out of my reach cars. In Europe they run cars to much higher mileages than we do I believe. We are more throw away
He is correct. Most of the parts the are checked for a MOT I’ve change on a 13 year old car with 150000 miles. But take the number off and cover mileage . you could not tell the age or mileage be just driving it
I used to live in France, a used car with 100k on the clock was considered a 'good car' on the basis that once it had reached that mileage it wasn't likely to go wrong. That was why you used to see so many beaten up Renaults etc being belted down the motorways. Distances are much greater over there, and motorway miles put a lot less stress on the engine and gearbox. Over here clutches and gearboxes are usually the big items that go bang.
Hi Joe love your channel, I have seen the new Vlogs and loved them. Started watching from the beginning and love watching you develop the company and love your positivity 🎉
Not everyone. I'd say it's 50/50. This issue is this... if it is going to be online only then customers expect a cheaper experience. Cars must be cheaper and the should be cheaper because they don't have showrooms and sales staff to pay. Cazoo issue is they still had showrooms and sales staff so they priced cars the same as the rest of market.
Anyone buying a car online without seeing or test drive it ask for all they get, dealers buying from BCA online are taking one hell of a risk, BCA are ruthless when it comes to paying any money back for faulty vehicles, the warranty they offer is no better than a leaky sieve there’s that many exclusions it basically covers nothing, the number of times my friend in the motor trade has been caught out by BCAs sharp practices is unreal. Their warranties are worthless unless the vehicle is covered by the manufacturers guarantee, the number of exclusion’s when you read the paperwork makes you wonder just what is covered, the number of exclusion’s is almost endless and not worth the paper there written on. Why the motor trade continues to purchase vehicles from these sharks is beyond comprehension and the sooner they have some real competition with other auctions starting up the better they’ve had the monopoly for far too long, their part of a massive company which has over the years has got a stranglehold over the trade, cause any problems and they will close your account, this amounts to blackmail and it’s time the relevant authorities investigated this company and it’s way of doing business.
Hi Joe. Cazoo thought they were the answer to the car markets problems. But I never trusted them at all, lol. And now look where they are. You're looking great, I must say 👌👏. Good video, mate 👍💯👏👏🇮🇪
I must be the odd one out I want to deal in cash, I want to go to the showroom and haggle, Because I really hate dealing online and we need to make a stand because cash is still king ! These munters trying to get away with scrapping cash have far too much power and if they succeed with that then we are in deep shit*.One flick of the switch and you cannot put food on the table think about that .
Never understood this online purchasing lark, we're not talking a pair of shoes here,it's probably one of the most expensive purchases you'll make and your relying on a camera to outright buy a car.
The only ones who get any money out of the administrators is the administrators themslelves with their fees they get all the fruit leaving the scraps for the rest to fight for.
it seems to be an expanding line of business, insurers no longer repair cars, mine was written off for minor damage, and re sold at auction and is now back on the road !! Co Part opened a massive new yard near Gloucester last week, good access to M5 and the midlands
I worked for cazoo from day one. From about 4 months in a lot of staff could see issues starting. Running at a 7% loss on average in each sale. This never really changed in there first 2 years. Always going to struggle to maintain a business like this.
Buying online without seeing it is alright for some as long as the seller is well known for being reliable and trustworthy. Cazoo and the like have crap reviews Stick to dealers with good customer reviews…like Berrow Motors
I had a fantastic experiance with Cazoo, much better than any other dealer I have ever used, including BMW and Land Rover main dealers. Was treated like a valued customer, 7 days to test the car and think the price was good.
Awesome, I've never said it wasn't a good system for the buyer, in fact they threw endless money at making the experience good. A viable business that does not make though
Bitter, whoever said that sounds bitter, there will always be a place for small local dealers Joe, not everyone wants to buy online or via car supermarkets
Cazoo ( I think Cinch are doing badly also ) were a model based for lock down - in the real world people - whether buying vegetables, clothes or indeed cars - always like to see feel and smell the product on sale for themselves. Not the biggest issue if you are buying a cabbage on Occado and it is delivered past its best but when spending £25k on a 2nd hand car like to check the goods for themselves .....
The Cazoo business model was never going to work. The vast majority of people want to see their prospective purchase up close and personal before buying, given that it is probably the largest purchase they will make other than buying a house.
Cazoo never stood a chance. Edicts such as distance selling rules, FCA 2-week cooling off period, The Consumers Rights Act implied terms etc gave their customers too much latitude to cause problems.
Did you just say EIGHT BILLION and they need SEVEN HUNDRED MILLION to carry on or something like that ? Who were these people......who were the investors......who thought that this was a way to do business.....where did all that money come from....how does 3G think it can generate that sort of income from when things are so flat because interest rates and prices are so high....and what on EARTH has happened to the once flourishing car business ? I hardly see a new car in my area and those I do see are either company cars or Motability ones ! Ordinary hard working people like me look at the price of a new car and laugh ourselves silly before climbing back into our ten year old ones and shaking our heads in disbelief !
Can I have a bit of guidance from those in the know on here. Currently looking for a second hand car but the prices to me are simply too high for what is being offered. I know about the chip shortage and the knock on effect together with inflation and interest rates BUT should I wait until December to buy or are we talking the middle to end of 2025? Are these prices eventually come down or am I so out of it that the prices today are reasonable?
Cazoo thought they were going to rule the (car) world, big purchases in other countries, massive advertising, big floatations with hardly any assets, it was a bubble that was always going to burst, people spending say 18k on a car want the big/main dealer back up as well, you'd have to be pretty brave to buy say a 20k car and just be given a glib generic warranty, if you were saving 1000s maybe, but you weren't.
@@ShiftingMetal that's very good for auction buyers across the south since Bca shut the doors there is a gap there. Interesting about EVs as we have a business plan for EV cars
I though it was cool until this tiny little detail came out: "They are going to concentrate on EVs" Oh, well out of the frying pan in to the fire, I would say. At least it will make for some nice YT drama in the future. EVs are a dead man walking, and good riddance too.
another good video tells you that cazoo is dead and g3 is taking over lol so be it they deserve everything they can get joe because my son was with them and they skanked him out of two months wages . but keep us informed and thank you.
