Uli has a command on stage like no one i ever saw but Jimi, I just saw him for the first time tonight and am soooo impressed, what an inspiration for other guitarist.
G3 Normally has 2 cool guys and 1 who's there just because, with the acception from when they brought Robert Fripp, because that was from out of this world.
8:57 Look how effortless Uli’s playing is. Both hands perfectly relaxed, picking hand especially. Not making eye contact with the fretboard. Beautiful.
Ring Han I'm thoroughly discombobulated by the sheer floccinaucinihilipilification of your comment not to mention the fact it was incredibly immature you're clearly just acting like a total poopy pants, that was actually my reaction to the music because it was such an exciting atmosphere at the concert. Expert analysis of your comment listen closely : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E0bcIWvE-3g.html Take that!
I'm from Spain and went to the Madrid concert (April 9, 2018) and it was absolutely amazing to see this 3 guitar gods together (Petrucci is my top guitarist, I'm a big fan. I bought Suspended Animation CD on that concert, first time I saw it on sale in Spain). It's so nice watch this video and remeber that concert. They played together Highway Star too, and it was terrific. I wish Satriani come back with a new tour. By the way, he missed some notes playing Cherry Blossoms!! Maybe he is human?
Thus and again proving there is no better or best and that music is subjective - me being a massive Petrucci and Satriani fan, but preferring Roth to both of them in this class and era of music. For me personally - Uli = right piece, right puzzle. Joe and John = wrong piece, wrong puzzle. I don't say that competitively, but rather contextually. Still, I appreciate their interpretations and love both. As well a huge fan of Roth who is a master in his own right.
11:15 Is a rare Epic moment among giants looking at each other "what is going on, it sounds amazing". Brilliant buildup and improv at last chord for Satriani "The Teacher".
True master artist each with their own style. Uli is my favorite among them. He plays with more feeling than any guitarist I have ever seen. He appears at on with his instrument. If you ever get a chance to see him in person, don't miss the opportunity. It's like no other concert you have ever experienced.
I saw Uli playing live. Amazing style, amazing magnetism, one of the best virtuoso ever. He stole the stage to everyone. Unbelievable guitar icon. I think he is a guitar mystic maestro like Steve Vai.😊
We can't never deny Petrucci's mastery, but for me....aghhh...the most time passes, the less he maked me feel something, but that''s me Satriani, again for me, did better than Petrucci in the context of the song And the only one who really understands what the song needs, was Uli
Well, Uli is obviously a huge Hendrix fan, perhaps even more so than Satch. Heck, he even dated Hendrix' ex after Hendrix passed, and to my knowledge, is in possession of Hendrix favorite Strat, the black one he used in 69/70. Apparently Monica Danneman (Hendrix girlfriend at the time) kept it after he died, then she committed suicide a little later when she was with Uli, and he kept the guitar although it's not really his to keep, as Danneman wasn't Hendrix' next of kin since they weren't married (so the guitar should be in the possesion of his family rather).
Is it just me, or does it always look like John Petrucci is just about to crush his guitar into 1000 pieces... Does music man make those things out of Solid oak to hold up to him?
You mean body builder Petrucci with big biceps ? Yeah, he uses force not that but his muscles maybe too much to play guitar. He needs pure titan guitar or solid steel.
I saw Satch in a little club in Baltimore called Hammerjack's way back when he still had his hair. It's nice to see someone with his incredible talent demonstrate the self-control to let other guitarists shine. To me, that's a very valuable lesson in itself.
towards the end of the video where Joh and Uli were playing the same thing John is looking at his hand and Uli is looking to audience or off elsewhere and still nailing things. Uli is a rare player. you can tell it is with his soul he plays!
@@funkster007 yup. he was same way with Scorpions. Video of him doing Sails of Charon he runs the fast riff like magic with out looking at fret board. Basically eyes closed.

Bryan Beller just chillin out behind the Uli wall of sound 🙂
I'm not a guitarist, but I have the utmost respect for them as someone who plays another instrument. I discovered Ulli as a kid with the first time I heard Sails of Charon. When videos became a thing, I started watching him play. I think I've spent probably months of my life watching this man effortlessly create. He's phenomenal to me.
I know I'll get hammered for this (and I'm NOT Trolling), but I think anyone who went to this gig had a right to expect better than they got here. Uli was out of tune a lot of the of the time and his tone was execrable (although what he was playing was, for the most part, more i keeping with the original - if played really badly). Joe and John just seemed to try to shoehorn some flashy off-the-shelf licks into the song with little musical sympathy. Disappointing.
Uli Jon Roth can Shred and it's very Impressive and cool but we don't like his Guitar and his Tone, also I like his works with Scorpions, and Petrucci and Satriani, well they are My favorite Guitarists too :D
though the audio quality of this video is shitty but still their playing gave me goosebumps holllllllyyyyy shiiit that was grt feeling 😵🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️hats off to all the performers
