Well said Nii. these towns/or cities were all established by the Ga Mants3 as guards posts head led by his commanders also known as Chiefs. There are some towns within the the Akwapim and Akyim lands given to the Ga stool during the time of Ga Mants3 (king Taki ) in other to secure the protection of the Ga Mants3 and warriors since the Ashante's were relentless in conquering the Akyems and Akwuapims. Some of these territories includes Okaija Man which is deep inside AKyim/Akwapim land and was headed by my great great grandfather Nii Okaija. There are many more of such towns or lands (some near the Adeiso River) not bearing Ga names but owned by Ga stool. Let's not fall for money. Rather Lead with integrity and compassion!! All the people of Ga tribes are part of Ghana. Let’s stop ✋ allowing tribal chiefs to reignite former divisions & bring back their feudal mindsets which can only lead to tribal wars 😤😤😤! Must we necessarily be like the Ashantes? The towns have always been independent. If there's a need to amend that, it should be through an agreement instead of self-imposed.
In history (as far back as Mants3 Okaikoi) the individual towns have existed as independent states with their own internal military arrangements but co-operated to fight as one Ga during war. None of the towns were administratively under another except the Aklowai including Nii's own Abehenease which belonged to whichever quarter of a town that settled it. E.g. Abeka belongs to Asere and La-Nkwantanan/Madina belongs to La Klanaa. The principal towns have always been Ga Mashi, La, Teshi (offshoot of La), Nungua and Tema with Osu(Christianborg) as a late addition. Gbese, Asere and all the quarters in Mashi are on the same level of Lershi, Klanaa, Gmatii in La. They have always been quarters and hence are equals. La, Teshi or Nungua cannot be on the same level as the Sempe, Abola or Gbese stools, that will be a grave error. We should sit down in private and trash out these issues instead of being all over the place on social media with something this critical to the unity of the State we want...Let's be adults about this!
I second your suggestion and I think Kelvin Tackie-Abia made a grave mistake by allowing the Sempe Mantse to make that announcement in public before having those discussions and understanding between all parties but the stool is defending itself and we shall see the end result

Wake up please look at the youth in the communities. No single plot of land was left for indigenous Ga citizens. They will use tactical ways to confuse everyone. They intentionally harasses Ga citizens who have tried to buy a piece of land, always summoning the Ga buyer to the chiefs palace with unnecessary questions and leaving other tribes to enjoy their land.

There are a lot of problems in the Ga land that needs to be solved. Stop all these unnecessary ownership of power and fix issues arising in Ga. Stop selling land and family properties and lease them instead. Accra is overly crowded and dirty fix those issues. Check on what the various markets taxes are used for. Other tribes are enjoying Accra market taxes evaluate that and keep Accra clean instead of fighting for chieftaincy and Power without laying good foundations. Sack intruders in our various beaches and use it for business purposes.
Form groups to go round on every Ga lands owned by other tribes and lease instead of selling forever if u want power, start checking on land documents of our various lands. I think Ga kings should talk about important issues during meetings than claiming Power. Anybody at all locate to Accra and mount containers anywhere because we love to fill our stomach instead of thinking of future generations.

La and Teshie Traditional councils quoted impeccable verifiable independent sources to assert their independence from the Ga Stool. Ablade TV should do a better job next time. I think this "chief" does not know the history of the Ga people. The Gamashie (Wo Sagba ) were the last Ga settlers among the four major Ga groups mainly, Wo Kple (Tema), Wo Krowor(Nungua) and Wo Doku (La).. The prominence of Gamashie became prevalent as a result of the Colonialists settling on the Gamashie land with the resultant moving of the Capital of Gold Coast from Cape Coast to Accra. That "chief" needs some historical education and he should not disgrace himself. He is deluging himself by erroneously comparing the Gas Chieftaincy structures with the Ashantis. This tells you the level of his intelligence quotient as far as this subject matter is concerned. Blanket copying of other tribes cultural hegemony is dangerous. The Ga people are distinct and independent tribe but are united when it comes to defend each other against external forces. That "chief" should NOT muddle the waters and must STOP tickling himself.

My brother, point of correction.....The Asante Kingdom was established by the amalgamation of 5 independent Akan states(with alacrity) by Okomfo Anokye to be one people and be called Asante kingdom.....and there was one King to be the overlord. Later, all the neighbouring towns joined.

We all welcome the idea of unity, however it must no misplace the history and cultural heritage of the people. The claim being made by this Nii is not supported by history. Not all Alan speaking people are Ashantis. Gas can unite under an arrangement however you cannot force overlord when it traditionally doesn't exist.
