Don't think of this simply as a song, Ghaal has been and will be an artist. Treat this as a form of expression and art. It's not for everyone but try to understand it.

An awesome respect commanding stage presence. One of the many attributes which indisputably places Gaahl as a true artist, performer and gentleman. I see in the comments below a fair amount of negativity as to this video etc. I would just like to mention that there are literally thousands of black and death metal bands out there. What sets Gaahl and his outfit far apart from literally all of the others is that he has an inimitable style, presence, and qualities that no other "artist" will ever achieve. In ten years time - who will be remembered? A talentless band with a name as putrid as the commercial faeces that they spew out and disappear never to be seen or heard of again and then you see them frying chicken parts or delivering pizza because they burned out? Or will you still see the familiar face, hear the voice and solid music crafted by a maestro a genius an epic icon by the name of Gaahl and the members of Wyrd? Gaahl and Wyrd are the benchmark, the long lifers who dominate the metal world in much the same way as black Sabbath, queen, the rolling stones, deep purple, credence Clearwater revival, the Beatles and Elvis Presley, bob marley and others were and still are to music today. It's very sad that so many people do not recognize, appreciate nor respect true talent and artistry and prefer to go with the sheep and jump from one fashionable fad to the next. Respect from 🇿🇦⛧🤘

so far as i can see the whole song is just switching between 2 chords on guitar. i like that honestly :) i play guitar also and sometimes if i am bored i do the same thing for 15 minutes :) its relaxing for me. to make epic music you must not always make it hard and this song is a perfect example :) i really enjoy this song but imo is the violin thing or what it is xd too much in this song :)

Say whatcha want about Gaahl ... there is plenty, both good and bad, to say ... but in a genre of copycats, his stage character is different. Instead of high energy head banging, he just slowly walks, straight posture, and stares. Pretty cool. With that said ... I'm not his biggest fan.
