You should really do more videos as they are the best on RU-vid. I think people would much appreciate it. Thank you for amazing visual explanation on how drugs work.

Can someone please explain what nerve pain is. I understand the words. I just want to know what qualifies as nerve pain. I have severe disc problems in my lower back. And it makes my right upper thigh and hips hurt at night. I don't take any pain medication except for tramadol occasionally but it doesn't really help. Just feel "strange" in my head. Not like opioids. Is there anyone that knows if gabapentine is a good idea? They're sold over the counter here in Thailand where I live

Opioids typically will not help with nerve pain. Gabapentin, on the other hand, will. Nerve pain is the sensation of pain due to irritated nerves/nerve fibers. Can be caused by trauma, pinched nerves, bulging discs, inflamed muscle, etc. Typically radiates pain along a nerve.

@@bigmrox4lyfe aaah thanks for your explanation. I have this "old man" back pain. Diffuse. Goes down in my right leg... Tried gabapentine and I think it helped. And yes. Opioids doesn't really do more for me than that I stop caring about the pain which makes the pain worse after 😊

@@bigmrox4lyfe That is incorrect, opioids reduce all forms of pain.

@@ChristopherGray00 true. But they’re typically more dangerous to take, considering a higher dose is necessary, and how addictive they are.

@@bigmrox4lyfe Only fentanyl group opioids have a real potential of true accidental, non negligent overdose, and that is only in black market productions of it that do not press the pills with accurate measurements that pharmaceutical companies do have. And even with the dependence and addiction potential, opioids still do have their place with severe, chronic pain patients, the pain reduction is simply unrivaled in that regard and ultimately for some patients who literally cannot live otherwise they are nessecary.

I assume the neurotransmitters for the pain signals are also slowed down
