No. Gabby’s death touched people’s emotional insecurities and they are just feeding on it by over-analyzing as to what happened to her. As far as touching lives is concerned, I think that Gabby once again highlighted society’s lack of knowledge about domestic abuse and the need to protect others from it. She also highlighted how hard it is to get out of the web and the fact that victims think that they are the issue in the relationship and save the perpetrator or make excuses on his or her behalf. Thats exactly what Gabby did. She put the whole blame on her OCD and anxiety and convinced the cops that they just needed a break. The fact is that the cops completely failed to see her anguish and look beyond surface level as to what was happening. Gabby touched a lot of hearts that way and I pray that no family or woman or man goes through this. Domestic abuse and workplace abuse is real. Stop being so abusive y’all.

She’s a symbol for all those who have been through that kind of treatment by their significant other. I realized even more now that why I left after 26 years of hoping he would change, he only got worse; his control, manipulation and gaslighting. He succeeded in poisoning my adult children against me that they don’t want to speak to me. However. the pain of them not talking to me doesn’t measure to the pain of me enduring abuse on a daily basis. Do the right thing for yourself. I don't think I would be able to either, but we're given strength to get through the preparations. We put a wall up and protect ourselves so that we can get through it. Later they will realise a wall went up and that the horrible experience changed them without them realising. They will be much different people when the wall comes down and it will be a long time before it does. I think the mother scoffed at something Gabby's dad said about being a parent. He heard her and then said Gabby had 4 parents and no step parents. Maybe like with a lot of biological father's he wasn't as involved as her stepfather was. Her stepfather talks about Gabby as a child and growing up. That's what he lead with. Her stepfather also visited where Gabby died and made her the cross from pebbles, including one pink pebble for his little girl. He is beside himself. Maybe Gabby's biological father had the advantage of being able to detach like there would be detachment with older offspring that had flown the nest 22 before their death. Obviously he still feels her loss. This might be why he appears stronger and has lucky been able to handle the media and find their daughter. I'm sure he has a lot of his own personal heartbreak right now because he wasn't there to wake up in the same home as her while Gabby was growing up. For whatever reason. Maybe he did play an active role all the way through . It's tricky with divorce.

Elisa, I agree, it would take all I had to just be there. My best friends 19 year old son died by suicide in the Spring, his Dad was able to give a beautiful eulogy at the funeral. We all have that inner strength when we need it.

There are actually more cohesive blended families around than many realise. I made sure that my children had as much time with their father as they wanted when we split up, I encouraged contact and I never spoke badly about him ( even though there was a lot I could have said!) For me being the best parent was allowing my children to think the very best of their father and I worked hard to forge a healthy relationship with his new partner. Parents should put their children’s needs first- it’s tough enough on them to see their parents separate without a load of drama afterwards. I’m glad that Gabby and her siblings were blessed with that, at least.

These people are not suing the parents of brian, for helping him escape. And keeping evidence from the police, which they did and are fact. The parents of brian are guilty of helping a murder. This is not about Brian who doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in this comment thread…But please be careful about referring to suicide and the many reasons someone may choose to take their own life as being cowardly. One could also say he was too cowardly to choose suicide.I just feel it’s not necessary to drag it in. ✌️

Gabby had 4 wonderful parents, she and her family are what good people are. The opposite of that evil being that took her away but God knows best although it is hard for us to understand now, her life touches us and she has a place in my heart always. My niece was taken from us almost 20 years ago at the age of two but the pain is still raw today. My heart goes out to Gabby's family and loved one, I will keep you in my prayers, please be strong and Gabby is an angel now, we will meet one day. Please be well and strong. Love you guys so much.
