I found out last year that my Patrilineal Ancestor was brought to America from Gabon during the slave trade. I am a descendant of the Bakota People! A few weeks after I found out, I came across a Kota reliquary figure at a local African goods shop. I nearly cried in the store, it was a sign from the Ancestors, I knew what I had to do. I am now its proud owner! I light incense and honor my Ancestor for his strength every morning. I can’t wait to visit beautiful Gabon in the near future!
@@TheAfricanScript we grow up with no knowledge of self here, they killed part of our soul when they cut from our roots. That’s why many of my kin are lost. But discovering that my family has a long, proud history beyond slavery has changed my life. I haven’t had the opportunity to visit the Motherland yet, but I will soon, that’s my next step. My dream is to one day find a country to settle in permanently and help our people make Africa great. Maybe it will be Gabon!
I'm from Gabon!!! So proud!!! I've been in South Africa, Cameroun and Kenya! Beautiful countries!!😍 I'd like to visit Rwanda, Tanzania, Nigeria and Ghana!
I am a native american traveled to Gabon for thier tourism and traditional healing. a very generous and wise people live here. I loved the food, music, new years party, and naturalism is at its highest here. Only issue was the maleria was very strong. i wish gabon life stays happy and blessed.
Gabon is a beautiful country. For Malaria, there two solutions; You can either use a mosquito repellent gel or sleep under a mosquito net. I understand your frustrations but it can be surely contained by those two solutions up there👆🏾
Are you a “Native American” actually from south East Asia and just native by birth or are you an actual American aboriginal? Who looks like any other indigenous man across the planet who is dark skinned? Some with straight hair and others with “whool” hair?
I’m a Gabonese living in New York , after this video I miss more my country . Thank you so much for this sharing , God bless you to show us the beauty of our country .
New York over Africa? I understand you want a "better" lifestyle, but there are other important things to consider. There are plenty places in africa way better than new york.... Just saying. I am Russian living 2 hrs away from NYC and thinking of going back. I realized I will always be an immigrant, an "other". The minute I open my mouth and people hear my barely there accent, I get stupid questions coming. I was born in Lugansk Ukraine where I spent most of my life (there is war because most of us feel more Russian than Ukrainian) and I am thinking of going back to a literal war zone over this. So many safe and rapidly developing african countries without the filth we got here in America where they will teach your youth to do good for nothing. Just look at the difference between the black music and families in the 50s and now... Cohesive black families, music promoting tradition, love and respect. Now you got an epidemic of single black mothers and the TV and music promoting drugs, thug lifestyle, and degeneracy. The elites continue to try hardest to ruin your people, just as they did ours. I recommend looking into who the elites are. My grandma told me as the jews took her parents, they were put on the trains to be sent to worked to death to sibera, They killed over millions upon millions after the Communist revolution in Russia. I also suggest going on yandex.com and searching up jewish role in the slave trade this info is censored on google etc.
@@stevejulmiste7525 The Teke people or Bateke, also known as the Tyo or Tio, are a Bantu Central African ethnic group that speak the Teke languages and that mainly inhabit the south, north, and center of the Republic of the Congo, the west of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with a minority in the south-east of Gabon. Omar Bongo, who was President of Gabon in the late 20th century, was a Teke.
Watching from Canada, because "Gabon" was the answer in a map game I was playing and I realized I knew nothing about Gabon. Thanks for the quick, accessible and interesting introduction!
Glad to have you here Luciana. All these countries mentioned are beautiful countries. Am sure you’ll have a great time there. Other than Ghana and Gabon, have you been to any other African country?
my name is Danny and I run an account for my non-profit and I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I recently found that my paternal ancestry is from the Tsogo, Kota, Fang and Teke peoples of Gabon and I hope to visit one day. thank you so much for this video
Wonderful presentation! I'm in the diaspora, in the United States. Gabon is where my original ancestral family is from. I didn't know the country was so beautiful. I would love to live there someday. Thank you for the coverage.

Am from Pakistan and love Africa and nature that it has preserved. My best wishes for all people of this world irrespective of cast, creed, color, religion. I love everyone color of who's blood is red !
Interesting video with good clear commentary. One thing which would improve it would be reducing sound levels of the music and better mastering. Otherwise all great and I learned quite a bit.
Through DNA just found out that my ancestors are from Gabon. 100% with paternal genetic ancestry with Tsogo, Ateke and Kota people. My paternal family are so excited.
@@TheAfricanScript Yes eventually. The family is so excited. All credit is to our youngest daughter. She was inspired and she went into full force. Couldn’t be more proud.
Bateke people are not just in Gabon they are huge nation their land area spreads till the 2 Congos. Both cities Kinshasa and Brazzaville are their lands. I hope its not too much information to confuse you. Just letting you know If you are Teke, don't just claim Gabon. Please search "plateau de Bateke" If you wish to learn more.
Exactly, that's a very good point. Gabon shares many peoples with the 2 Congos, and the Fang, and maybe some others with Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea.
I watched this video and was very impressed as to the beauty of thie county Gabon. I live in Colorado. USA. I love seeinh the truth about the Africian continent.....
This is great to know! Thanks for sharing! I too have my Patrilineal Ancestry from Gabon, the Benga and Fang people. I've never been to Africa, but I definitely want to visit one day...shoot, I might even stay.

Gabon is notable for the Oklo reactor zones, the only known natural nuclear fission reactor on Earth which was active two billion years ago. The site was discovered during uranium mining in the 1970s to supply the French nuclear power industry.
I never heard of this place until I studied the world map and realized that the equator crosses Africa as well which means perfect weather. W this fact alone I knew why these city is hidden from the world bc of its untold natural resources. Gabon also has lots of oil reserves. Ppl always says starving kids in Africa but in fact Africa is actually the riches nation by nature resources alone.
Watching from the diaspora in the US. My family just received geneology results showing our patrilineal ancestors were of the Punu ethnic group! I've been to Ghana and cannot wait to visit Gabon. Long live mother Africa! ❤💪🏾🫶🏾
I received my African Ancestry results today, and my Patriarchal results says that my lineage is from Gabon, Africa. Being African American, we have no way of knowing our existance only through science. Sometimes it hurts to read that no one really accepts us in America or in Africa. We are alone like bastard children....But at least now I have a port of orgin to start from... Thank God
Thank you for sharing these fact! Now I'm even more inspired to visit the country. I'm also a RU-vidr 🇳🇬. I travel to African countries to make videos and showcase their beauty. Do you have any English speaking contacts there that could show me around?
Hey how are you doing? My name is Earvin I'm from Gabon and living South Africa... I can find a contact who lives there in Gabon right now for helping you visiting the country
Hello This is Professor. Subhashish Chattopadhyay from Bangalore, India. Loved this video. I have some business ideas related to desalination of Sea water, biodiesel etc. Was wondering if I could visit Gabon and explore.
We’re on a mission to put the entire African continent and it’s countries know by the whole world. Glad you enjoyed the video Gideon. Btw, which amongst these 10 facts shared interested you most?
I am so excitedly. I am an African American! I recently found out my paternal lineage is Fang People from Gabon Africa bought to America's during the Slave trade.
I've always been intrigued with Gabion, reading it's Rich History hign sch..( I'm Jamaican). Teacher.. always loved this Country, on The Equator. what are your Repartition Requirements?? Thanks
@@TheAfricanScript no I’ve only been to Ethiopia in East Africa. I Visit these countries through your channel and InshAllah I can visit one day. Your content is much appreciated
Wow!!! Am happy you’ve been to the continent before. Ethiopia 🇪🇹 is a great country. Am also glad my content helps. I appreciate you being part of the community
I just found out that my paternal line is from The Tsogo, Ateke and Kota people of Gabon. I’m so excited and would love to get more information. If there’s anyone who can shed some light on this, please respond. Thank you.
You’re welcome William. Gabon is one of the most beautiful countries on the continent. Am sure you’ll enjoy your time in the country. Btw, which other African countries have you been to?
I'm from Nigeria, what's so intriguing about this video is the self love, OPOR it's plenty, i must say that I love the awakening in the African continent and how we are becoming very proud of the black race. We bounded by love as brothers and sisters, Africans are embedded with values
This country supposed to more developed than that with a lot of resources small population, but thanks to Mr Omar bongo and his family.how they lowted the country and let the country look like poor African country.
I like the video. I am watching in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Do you have a brief tour of Libreville by Vehicle or Drone? I will love to see it. Thanks.
Watching from Türkiye (Turkey) and planning a business trip to Libreville in this month.. I loved the video and its simple and basic wording.. The environment and forests under protection by Gabonese Government, this is a big Gift to humanity and world, where climate changes very visible catastrophes at the door each day..
Nzebi and Bandjabi are the same. I think, Bandjabi is the plural from Nzebi, just like Bapunu is the plural from Punu. So one person is a Nzebi, many are Bandjabi
A South African of Indian heritage living & watching from Mauritius...interested in this video due to a French friend of Vietnamese heritage who previously lived in Gabon & now also lives in Mauritius:)
You shared the same clips of market place and Equator which you used in Uganda video. In fact you showed Equator line in Uganda as of Gabon which is not fair. Please be honest. I am an Indian worked in different countries of Africa and loved it and still around in the continent.
I'm watching from Alaska. Looks like the perfect place to get away from this subzero Fahrenheit weather. Time to leave the arctic and head for the equator.
@@TheAfricanScript I am from Africa. I now live in UK but I like how and what you have portrayed above Gabon. I did not know that Gabon has such amazing Forests and that it also has a very small population. Also I never knew that have such a fantastic collection of wildlife. Keep up the good work !!
