Well, he was sexually abused by priests (plural!) as a child in his Catholic boarding school. He lost his younger sister early in life. And he was an alcoholic up to the point of "If I don't stop now, I am going to die!" These are all quotes from interview's he's given, by the way. All those experiences sure leave their marks. 😕 The good news is, that he has been sober and emotionally healthy for several decades now and seems to be happily married and still working, which is both a great achievement to be proud of. 😊 Plus, people like Byrne, who's a bit of an introvert, an intellectual and a serious "thinker" by nature, also come across less happy than they actually are. 🤷🏻♀️ And on a light, funny chat show, you realize how funny they can be. 😄
The way he says ".... and me." ❤❤❤ You immediately know how lucky he considers himself to be working with and be married to his wife Ellen Barkin... Too bad they aren't together anymore.
@@nothing1388 They are still really good friends. He went to her wedding to Perelman and helped her when she was going through the divorce. They have two children together. They had each other's backs about revealing anything about their relationship
To ByrnePerfection (8 years ago): Agreed! That film "Into the West" was Wicked Good! Incredibly touching and funny and really shows the excellent acting ability of Gabriel and Ellen. Also wonderful if you happen to be a horse fan.
Aww I can't get over this- #GabrielByrne on @EllenBarkin how much of a "brilliant actress" she is and hahahaha the whole horse/diaper thing....ROFLLMAO....hmm....next 'comedy roast' thing should be on @EllenBarkin or Gabriel...and hahahahaha the whole Irish directions thing XP omg...this is bril! :)..and I'll just throw it out there that #IntotheWest is PHENOMENAL! ;)
I googled Jason Miller and all it showed was Jason Miller the politician and I was like what? Gabriel seems NOTHING like him and then I searched some more and found Jason Miller the actor who was in the exorcist and now it made a lot more sense lol
Sort of. Jason MIller is a great playwright and a really good actor. Byrne is devastatingly beautiful, though, even now that he is older (73). Miller not so much. Both cool, though.
