This praise was first recorded by the American group the Gaither choir in 1999. It was lovely but unfortunately the lead singer passed away in 2010. Gabriel outsang them but his performance was controlled and he didn't oversing the song. The choir and orchestra only added to the perfection of the song. The concert was in Washington, DC and was over two hours long. Gabriel sang several songs while other artists also performed. Gabriel outshone them all. It was that beautiful. I was very curious how Gabriel would sing this song, so I listened with my eyes closed with great pleasure , even with the high notes 🤗, only the whistle was not necessary for me. I knew the song by Jessy Dixon, it is a gospel hymne and is already 150 years old.❤❤

The one you are seeing is the 2nd time (the first was January 2024, this one in April 2024 and the last one just ended on May 5 2024). Gabriel's stellar vocals with this R&B spiritual is one of my favorite kinds of songs he does, he shows so much soul in this, no wonder as he is a man of faith and he is a joy to see what he brings to any song he interprets.
