I know someone, a friend of one of my uncles, who went through a similar school drop-off event with his kid: ran late, intercepted by someone of authority, all that. His case, however, was that the one who intercepted them...was a police officer. Now, some schools actually get police officers to help monitor school grounds. Sometimes it is their own dedicated force, sometimes it is an assignment from the municipality, and this was the latter. When he heard the officer speak, he said he heard a slight accent from the officer, which, to his poorly informed mind then, sounded German. He tried the same trick Fluffy did, complete with the high-speed talking. The officer responded identically to the principal, although, by my friend's word, the officer's Spanish came out more naturally, like the officer had been fluent in it her whole life (sorry, forgot to mention that the officer was a woman). Not only did the officer give the same closer as the principal, but she approached him and said something that only he could hear. After he got back and told the story to my uncle, who is a German immigrant, he mentioned what the officer said only to him, whereupon my uncle burst into laughter. When he pressed a bit on what he was told, my uncle told him that the officer spoke German, and what she said to him was, "Nice try, @$$hole."

That part with the principal speaking Spanish has me always laughing. Cause there’s now white girls who learned Spanish and trip out Spanish speaking Latin folk when they reply in Spanish. My sister’s friend Deserea is proof of that. She’s white but the way she speaks Spanish you would think she was a pale skinned Mexican.
