I made the arrangement during last spring, and the concert was in May...something, can't remember the exact date anymore! It was paid by my school, if you mean the big instruments, lights and recording. Players I just asked from around the schools, thank god for them! Mixing was done by my good friend free of charge. I can't believe still it all happened :D
Today was the first time I ever played GKSotF. The funny thing is, I'd known about the game for a long time but I finally got around to playing it. These tunes were among the first songs you hear, and they stick with you immediately. The main theme in particular was already in my head due to an old Sierra demo disk I used to play over and over as child. Even though there was only a video trailer for GKSotF they played the main theme throughout it and it stuck in my head ever since. So naturally when I started playing the game and the main tune came, I nearly died of happiness, even though it was my first time playing, lol. Thank you for posting this.

That was banging. I just started playing the remake and the first thing that struck me was how awesome that main theme was. I just sat there in the main menu listening to it all the way through
Apparently I totally missed this question. And since my youtube-page is more of an museum of this concert, I rarely come here, since my interests lay elsewhere now. But better late than never! This was performed in Helsinki, Finland, at Pop&Jazz conservatory building. Again, my apologies for not answering!
I want to congratulate you Mr Holmes for creating this beautiful music. I first played GK when I was 9 (36 now) and every time I listen to this it brings tears of joy to my eyes. An argentinian fan!
I love the main Gabriel Knight theme. Reminds me of all the old school games where sometimes I'd stop playing just to listen to the music. I wonder if this series will return with the recent nostalgia-boom.
Thanks for composing one of the best soundtracks i've ever heard for one of the best games i've ever played. GK blew my mind on so many levels, and the soundtrack is forever stuck in my head. I know it sounds weird coming from a random guy on the internet but that game, the art style, and the music mean really a lot to me. Just wanted to say thanks.
This made my day! Thank you! The _only_ critisism for this arrangement really is the drum part in the 7/8-section, where it originally goes with 4/4 to 7/8 polyrhytm, with snare backbeats in every quarternote. It gives the song a really strong driving feeling, whereas this versions "conventional" 7/8 beat sounded kind of... sloppy and heavy, when everyone including the drummer really dug in to the 1 of the beat and stretched it. Ei millään pahalla, mahtava meno ja veto, ja lisää tällaista!
This is quite simply the best live performance of any video game music I've ever seen. Honestly, great adaptation of the source material, a fantastic range of talented musicians and such a strong sense of progression it's almost astounding. I'm so impressed!
This may very well be the first ever live performance of this music! I submitted this as a request to Video Games Live but nothing came of it... probably too obscure for them. Keep it up, I'd love to see you guys tackle some of the other GK music.

I'll answer now, since better late than never. It was not paid at all, all of us, including me, was at the time studying music and this was my "final" concert.
I loved the music from the Gabriel Knight games. Are you planning doing more pieces? I loved this rousing opening piece in GK1's menu, but also a lot of the music from GK2.
