I wouldn't like it. It's beautiful to watch but competitions are not only to entertain people. They are a normal sports competition where it's about wo is the best. An additional skate on ice would be a huge distraction.

I totally agree. Am American but they have been my favorite ice dancers for quite a few years. Just gorgeous!

Tango romantica actually is what they danced

I am afraid, this is not an Argentine tango, it's a blend. They froze before the dance a bit like Banderas and his partner in "Take the lead" poster. They started to move a bit like Chicho with Eugenia in the beginning, but soon disconnected and went into something like modern ballet. A moment when she jumps on his knee on 0:55 is, I believe, from Pablo Veron. Middle part was more like European ballroom tango with typical head flips and embrace. They go back to Argentine tango embrace at 1:55, just to imitate Veron again! The rest of it is a blend of both styles, but still heavy on ballroom moves till 2:548 with 5 solid seconds of Argentine Tango choreography. So, no, not really. Alas!

@@АняИванова-л7ц Never said it was pure, only that they translated the moves into something dancable on ice, not an easy feat. And for show elements it’s common to mix with European style, just because it’s more recognizable. But I always enjoy if there are at least some Argentine elements to find

yes, and all of it is a charade, that is so obvious when you see them like that at the end. couples must never let themselves down until they leave the stage completely. Otherwise, they ruin the magic.

I thank Papa and Ciz for allowing you to follow. It gives a wonderful understanding and feel of something so private while being massively public. Behind-the scene involves more bodies/cameras. Safety and a clean skate maybe compromised. My respect for Papa and Ciz for allowing you to be there with them touched me even more. I am so very satisfied with what the three of you have given me. I think most of the up-and-coming singles figure skaters (especially the young Russian girls) should be forced to take an intensive course in ice dancing. Goodness knows they can use the lessons in edgework, speed across the ice and interpretation of music with the body.
