Gabrielle Aplin - Space Oddity (Live at The Olympia) 

I sang this version of the song at my camp’s open mic. I’m always nervous before it, but I forget how sweet people are there. It’s an arts camp and everyone is so kind and talented. I felt so sad before cuz I thought I was worse than everyone else and I got really self conscious. I did it anyways, like I always do. I went back to my seat afterwards and sort of awkwardly sat down and my friend goes “dude, everyone’s crying” and I looked around and like 70% of the camp was crying and I asked some of them why and a lot of them explained that the song was special to them. I got to hear so many stories and give so many people hugs and then after, we went back to our dorm and a few of us watched a kids movie from the 80s and I just have to say, I feel so much better. I didn’t know if I could do this song justice but it turned into one of the most memorable things of my life, and i heard it first from beautiful Gabrielle. Thank you :)💕

I'm actually tearing up listening to this. I think it's due to a mix of the performance being so beautifully moving and me being more emotional than usual after watching brokeback mountain for the first time.
