No you don't. A boot you can take off and walk on. A cast you can't remove nor get wet plus you have to use crutches. Yes they're colorful but they're a bigger pain
Just a little bit over 11 years ago that I broke my left ankle from a bad car accident. I had surgery on my ankle. I had 3 different casts. I had a splint cast for the 1st 2 weeks. The fiberglass cast was 4 weeks. I wore the boot cast a little bit longer. I was in the wheelchair for 2 months and used the walker a little bit. Once I started to walk again that I was using the walker to walked around the house and even going outside. Once when I was able to walked pretty good w/o the used of the walker that I was walking very good with the boot. I weened off the boot cast during the month of July 2012. I took small steps in walking w/o the boot. It did took sometime for me to get back to normal. I didn’t even cried during what had happened to me 11 years ago.
