Three days of exploring Gabriola Island isn't enough to do it justice in this video. So much was left unseen, including not spending anywhere near enough time in the island's three provincial parks! The highlight of my trip was a very early morning bike ride around the perimeter of the island. Doing a bit of a longer ride in that peace and quiet was a perfect way to start the day. It was on that morning that I saw some of the wild peacocks that roam the island and call it home. They are the descendants of some escapees that fled a hobby farm years back. I also saw a raccoon that same morning in the forest. Prior to this, I had only ever seen city raccoons with all their antics. I brought my camera out, but it had fled by then - not something a city raccoon would do!
