I got to know Gacharic Spin first by their most recent releases like Mind-Set or I Wish I. By listening to their early songs, I'm so impressed by the power that they already had back then, as performers and songwriters. Very playful and crazy, but also deep and serious sometimes. They were great back then with Armmy, what a sad loss, but they survived all the changes and they are still very strong today, a unique band that I'd love to see live some day.
After i watched the 1st anniversary live show, I fell madly in love with Armmy. Then i had to find out everything about her, and sadly found out she had passed. All of the girls are supremely talented and i love all the stuff they have done since, but there was something special when Armmy was with them. She had a certain presence and charisma you can't replace.
For this brief period the band was three superheroes and a goddess. Funnily enough, I came to them in reverse, through Doll$Boxx ('Take My Chance'). Thought Fuki was brilliant. Then saw the video for 'Setsunaku', thinking, whoever this girl is, she'll never stand up to Fuki. Within about 30 seconds that opinion had permanently reversed. The fact that GS had a one point four people trying to replace Armmy at the same time says all you need to know. Hana's got decent pipes and Oreo can hold a tune, but neither come close.
This was the first time I saw this and I must say that I am impressed. The band had so much more of a rock / guitar driven sound on this, that is not to say that i do not like Koga's bass driven songs, it is just nice to hear Tomo-Zo shine a little more. I started with the current 5th Generation of the band and have hopped all over their musical history. Gacharic Spin will remain as one of my long time favs.
Armmy's passing away was such a tragic loss to the Japanese rock scene. Although I am mainly SCANDAL and BAND-MAID fanboy, these girls have a firm place in my heart and my MP3 player. RIP, Armmy; long live Gacharic Spin!

@@MaruNoNamae Video editing became my hobby, but I didn't do it before I started my RU-vid channel. I don't use automatic audio mastering. For most videos I use the original audio and normalize it with Audacity, if needed. For some videos, like my current Gacharic Spin video, I use RipX to separate voices and the instruments to partly mix them together. In my current video you can hear some live audio in the beginning, but then it's mostly the studio audio.
allora ho capito male. ho letto "AI remastered" in molti tuoi video, e ho pensato usassi un sito web dove, a pagamento, carichi il tuo file wave, e in automatico ti restituiscono il file con il mastering fatto. non conosco ripX, andrò a vedere cos'è ^^, sembra figo, separare la voce da un canzone qualsiasi è ottimo per chi vuole fare un remix. io in passato ho fatto dei remix, ma non avendo la voce originale ho usato un programma che avevo per fare una vocetta , ma il risultato è scarso
i like gacharic spin, in fact i like most with oreo in vocals, the music is more ritmic, and doll$boxx sounds to me like gacharic trying to sound like the days with armmy, i just like the gacharic with oreo singing, thnx by the video
Japanese people struggle more with singing on average, there are fewer natural talents; however in my opinion armmy was very good/nice at composing songs, and I also liked her electro/rock/pop style, in fact the GS have changed their musical style after her....is my opinion. however I think they managed to reinvent themselves with a very original solution, without a front singer (google translator^^)

do not i know well ... I think armmy suddenly had to leave the band during the tour because of health was bad and she do not can to continue the tour. but Oreo had already entered the band because the band sought a keyboardist and oreo was a friend of tomo, then oreo was already in the band for a few weeks or months
the first story on the internet was what armmy had been acting weird and missing events for a month or two. then a few weeks before a big tour she disappears and no one can find her. the girls go on their usual tv spot with a blown up picture of the group with armmy blacked out and tell the audience if they live near a tour stop, know some sings, and can send in a recording showing they can sing...then they can be the lead singer for gacharic spin for a nite or two. fuki, mayu, oreo and a half dozen others ended up singing on the tour. i guess oreo also played keyboards and sang backup when hana ended up singing most of the leads, according to the story, armmy showed back up a while after the tour, told everyone she was sick and would be leaving the band. i guess oreo had been just hanging out as a friend of tomo-zo while armmy had still been there. the story has gotten cleaned up a bit over the years but there is a pic of hana and that blown up photo with a blacked out armmy floating around on the internet somewhere. i see it every once in a while. also after armmy died people were saying the koga had said mean things about armmy but all she was that she wished that they could have worked out their differences before armmy died. obviously there was still tension between armmy and the band even years later.
yeah, that's the one. it always struck me that they were likely a bit irritated with armmy to use an advert with armmy just blanked out. and can we get a moment of recognition for both hana and koga rocking the bare midrift?

Gacharic Spin was a great hard-rocking band until Armmy left. She wrote quite a few of the songs and was one of the best front women ever. She even did the artwork for some the band's CD jackets. When the band lost her, it was like Van Halen losing David Lee Roth, or like The Rolling Stones without Mick Jagger. They became a pop show, with the two dancers trying to fill the big shadow left by Armmy's absence. Oreo's efforts to emulate Armmy's stage presence are just embarrassing. I stopped buying GS CDs when they went pop. Some of the later videos are even hard to watch, at least for me. I feel lucky to have GS's excellent concert DVD, "1st Anniversary Live". It was recorded over two nights, the 8th and 9th of October, 2010, at a fairly small concert hall or live house, and captures the band at their peak, with their best lineup: Koga, Hana, Armmy, and Tomo-Zo. As well as the performances, it shows the band backstage, setting up and joking together. Every rock fan friend of mine who has seen and heard it was impressed, even though they'd never seen or heard of GS before. It's an All-Region DVD, so fans anywhere in the world can watch it, as long as their player can play NTSC format. At least Doll$boxx still can rock. Just keep Oreo away from it!
Give me Band-Maid any day. They play circles around this band and all other Japanese bands. No one else comes close. Bridear is good but they do that growling thing which sounds horrible.
I love band maid but you surely haven't experienced either band nearly enough to make that claim. Gacharic spin wrote their own music from the start while most of Band Maid's first album wasn't written by them. Tomo-zo can play circles around Kanami but their music isn't designed around her shredding. Kanami will improve. Tomo-zo will improve.....likely because they both hang out with Takayoshi Ohmura. Ronnie When you start writing your own songs and performing them and playing in front of crowds the size these bands have been performing in front of for years now then maybe you can say something until then shut up at this point you're nothing more than an armchair quarterback
