Haven't seen Gadar 2 but loved OMG2. Loved how Amit Rai integrated the topic of sex education in mainstream cinema. Jailor was a perfect commercial package.
It is sad that Anupama hasn't seen OMG2 yet. I wish they had shot this video after she got chance to see it. That would have been an interesting discussion..

Commercial cinema doesn't mean bad cinema. Jailer is a great watch. Thalaiva makes it something worthwhile. On contrary, Gadar 2 is subpar and the director's son Utkarsh Sharma has a lot to do with it. The only good thing about it was Sunny Deol with his shorter screen time. The first one had an emotional core and a robust performance from the legendary Amrish Puri.
Adipurush destroyed it for every other films who would have blend positive religious reference to solve everyday misconception, hatred through good films. We are gonna miss so many good stories in future.. 😔😔
believe me, anyone who watched Gadar2 didnt connected with it but still went for it bcz of nostalgia and the buzz it created. my friends said "let it be cringy but lets go for the experience". and none of them really liked it.
When we were in the 90s, we did not care about super stars of 70s. But in 2020s, we are going crazy over super starts of 90s. This is super crazy and unbelievable as to how much impact the kids f 80s and 90s are having on the society on the whole. Of course, the only constant is Amitabh Bachchan and Rajnikanth.
Rajnikanth's stardom has been constant. I doubt whether or not Amit ji has a considerable amount of youth following. It is also true that Rajnikanth acted in 26 remakes of AB movies. AB is much senior than him. If we are willing to discuss constant stardom, I believe SRK would be an appropriate comparison since he still enjoys a good percentage of youth following. He made a grand comeback like Rajnikanth after a string of unsuccessful ventures.

Anupama is so biased - as she doesnt like Akshay ( evident from her reviews for Akshay's films ) , she didnt watch OMG 2 - and despite all the great reviews OMG 2 had got , they didnt even acknowledge the fact that Akshay backed such a project and released it in theatres despite all the odds. For her anything with SRK is a gem and she doesnt value others the same way.
Can't blame Anupama. After Akshay s performance in the last few movies , I didn't want to watch this movie, but now I booked a ticket for tomorrow's show.

I don't think she is disgracing gadar movie, but there are many loop holes in movie. If people love movies they will know that except Sunny Deol other characters are not strong. But, it's doing good and people loving it that's matter the most. Happy that this Friday Hindi cinema has released 2very good pictures , which are loved by public.

Totally agree with yall's opinion about MIH. I have been looking fwd to it for soo long and it was really disappointing. That heart tugging writing from season 1 was completely missing. And the "social issues" with the couples just didn't portray poignancy. The last couple for that matter... what was that?!?! Arjun Mathur did an AMAZING job. And Mona singh was perfect. Her character was also by far the most interesting one.
I DESPERATELY MISSED KABIR'S NARRATION. it was so less and never on point. Like in s1, when he narrated the dowry episode, it was chills in the end. But this time, it had no impact.
Actually, they should have fleshed out more the dynamic among Adil, Tara and Faiza. The Neelam Sameer Soni episode completely ruined the whole seriousness of the show for me. And character plots were done dirty just like game of thrones finale. Suddenly, Faiza ,an emotionally unstable artist with relativist morality is the most perfect fit in Bahu. A vile Bindu khanna who hates every other woman in her periphery is in love with her husband's illicit daughter. The epiphany that Tara has about her own morality and losing her identity in the last season which leads her to confess her sins to Adil is Suddenly fully gone and she is even worse than before, becoming full fledged bad guy as opposed to the grey from last season. Also, I got bored to death by the Jauhari family predictable ,thousand times seen story plot ! Yawn!

Anupama, my view is that you tend to suffer from analysis-paralysis. Gadar 2 is as illogical as Pathan or Rocky aur Rani. Perhaps you should direct a movie and that might make you understand the importance of gut emotion. Movies, by definition, are a fantasy, and sometimes, they require suspension of logic.

Anmol, Your argument that Pakistan is sometimes shown in bad light and sometimes in good is kind of illogical. See, the hero of the movie is not shown bad mouthing Pakistanis or Islam, the religion. He is always shown respecting the public of Pakistan and their Religion too, thus the Quran and Gita scene that u mentioned. He is just shown condemning the government there, remember the dialogue Aadha Pakistan khali ho jayega.Characters like Dolly bindra is bad mouthing her own country. And anyways, Hating or not hating Pakistan is subjective, In our country, people like u and Anupama love Pakistan while there are people who don't.
