@@ZedNinetySix_ idk about ahead of it's time, but the career had a lot of content. Solid controls and a plethora of customization options, alongside multiple championships and cool secrets. Had a bitchin soundtrack too. Hell, you had flying cars and cars that drove through water in 2001 or whatever. The only thing that I can think that sucks is that you couldn't use the career cars in multiplayer. Should have had all the tracks usable in multiplayer too, allow people to change the amount of laps ala Gran Turismo 3. Still, this game about tiny cars that could fly and swim is miles better than a lot of racing games made today.

This game is my childhood. I remember how much fun I’ve had playing it in the early 2000s. Best car game I’ve ever owned. Back then, everything was focused on the gameplay than the graphics.

I never knew this game existed and I'm angry that I'm just now knowing about it. I love it already for the sole fact that there's a McLaren F1 in the game.

So we got: - Super fast spy car with "cursed" meter - A toy robot - Spider car - Police bosozoku car - A chicken drumstick on a tray with squid and octopus meters All of which go 200 mph, turn like hell, and manage to win a race Yeah, it's a Japanese racing game alright

Under rated game. I still play this too every now and then. It's always a good feeling to fly, and float with your R34 or McLaren F1. Wish they would do a remake

@@rastas_4221 exactly, basically this is Choro HG1 and u played HG2. What's unfortunate is HG3 is only compatible with japanese or pal PS2 but you can basically super mod a ntsc so as to play(Get Pal) and honestly hg3 is better than two in every way just with a downsized sandbox world and THEY IMPROVED THE PHYSICS. HG4 was made for ntsc but is a real oddball still very fun but it's a serious investment because it's so deep

This was my very 1st ps2 game.. I was 5 years old to young to really appreciate it but looking back now it’s so under rated.. I’m 25 now and would love to play this again

This is a fun game. One of my favorite racing games from my childhood. When Mario Kart 7 came out with the gliders to fly and propeller to go fast underwater, it made me think of Gadget Racers. Gadget Racers should be a more popular game due to how good it is.

Gadget Racers is known as Penny Racers in Europe where I live. And, no questions asked, this is 1 of my favourite games of all time! 🙏😊🤗👍❤🎸🎵🎶 I SO wish there was a remake of this! This is like a toy Gran Turismo game to me! ❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍

I remember crying and begging my mom to buy me this game at blockbuster when i was 5 lol, so glad i did because it became one of my cherished childhood memories. Looking back on it now its crazy how ahead of its time it was. Mario kart was still in its infancy and this game was doing stuff that MK wouldn't do until 15 years later. We'll likely never see anything like this again, either. Even the "goofy" videogames take themselves way too seriously now lol

Greatest mystery of this game: Where are the humans and what is controlling the cars Are they alive Do they have human souls inside them Are they rc cars Or it's just a world of cars

its a world of cars. vehicles are sentient and communicate by flashing their high-beams in a morse code fashion. choro q is just the car aspect of that world. there is choro q boats that are (as implied) boats, and shin combat choro q which shows tanks. significantly larger vehicles like planes and trains are non-sentient and operated by the choro q cars.

I had to keep on upgrading to fight the rubber banding AI annnd it paid off. So yeah, this game kind of has rubber banding
