Public Betas are nice, but now that Apple One & the services play has hit escape velocity one wonders how receptive Apple will be to ARM64 Snapdragon Hackentosh-ing?!?
My step dad is an amateur pilot and he has 2 iPads for flying. One of them is an iPad mini that he mounts to the yoke of the plane and the other is an iPad Pro that he lets the passenger use. These iPads have his maps, pre-flight checklist, and weather. To make matters worse, both of these iPads are connected to AT&T with a monthly data plan. It seems unnecessary for only flying a couple times per year
Thats a crazy conspiracy theory and you need to be moderated for the safety of the whole wide world, which will literally melt and explode if you are not silenced !
"Nick Clegg, who nobody cares about" is simultaneously a sick burn that i appreciate, but also not true, because I have some STRONG opinions about that guy.
David’s opinion about things are so wrong yet he is so confident about it. Case in point t and quite obviously from comments is iPad mini. This show needs to be a bit more being aware of the world usage of the same tech. The messaging point though about moving to WhatsApp is more rooted to people moving to smartphone with android first in large numbers causing WhatsApp to be famous before iPhone was famous. As simple as what phone had large volume and feature. Plus the concept of free texts existed in markets in India in early 2000s that we were surprised texteIng costed you cents in the US .. one booster pack to your prepaid and 1000 messages free per day and unlimited between. 11pm and 5am ..
Artifice has always been a part of photography. It’s incorrect to imagine there was ever a stage of photo making where everything was ‘true’ and ‘pure.’ These new technologies are an evolution of that tradition. A more interesting artistic question to ask is this: Can truth be served by artifice? Some of the greatest works and images in history suggest the answer is resoundingly yes.
Used to work on the ground for a major US airline and not only are all the pilots issued iPads, all the inflight have iPad Minis, and the Mechanics department have cell enabled iPads as well - Aviation is full of iPads.
David has calmed some of my fears with the Math Notes in the next iOS/iPadOS update. As a university instructor that teaches developmental mathematics, I was concerned that Math Notes would make my job more difficult and students that lacked fundamental math skills would just compound their lack of fundamental math skills if they moved on to college algebra or calculus.
My question is who is asking for these AI features? Which group of customers are they catering to?? Everyone I know and talk to are sick of these AI things that are being shoved down our throats. We do not want it….
It already runs a lot better on Android. The performance on iOS is bad because apple does not allow jit, a technique fundamental to make modern emulators run actually fast.
19:38 I feel that. I just do. 48:02 The thing that bugs me with that is the they are a TON of assumptions that are made with AI-computational photography that is a matter of bias. I am not sure if I am ok with all of that. 50:42 WHY is it always the Pope?
Now that ARM64 laptops are getting on laps, I’m looking forward to seeing the FreeBSD & NetBSD ARM64 bells & whistles… then these units getting Hackentosh-ed👨💻
Nope @@MichaelGGarry : I mean booting an alternative OS. In light of the Cloudfire Friday OpenBSD 🐡 for ARM64 is probably getting a serious look. They are on 7.5 as of April 5.
Nilay, just stay out of politics. Just stay tech and tech only. You sound like you're not happy with the current political climate, but vent it out someplace else. Let the Verge be about tech alone, and nothing else.
@@jbnelson Thats dangerous wrong think, you must be censored for denying the sanctitude of the establishment and the truth they lovingly bring the world !
