This was actually not the first Sad Cat Cartoon,but this actually was the first animated cartoon made by Ralph Bakshi for Terrytoons. He would go on to direct a few more cartoons for Terrytoons and later,Paramount before going in the mile by making underground and adult animated films such as Fritz The Cat(1972),The Lord of The Rings(1978),and Cool World(1992). and also did several projects for television such as Mighty Mouse:The New Adventures for CBS,The TV Pilots,Christmas in Tattertown and Hound Town,and his adaptation of Dr.Suess' The Butter Battle Book.
