This video tutorial takes a look at how we can start creating Desert Rocks in Gaea in at a much closer up scale as a way of producing modular and re-useable models/assets similar to Megascans or Photogrammetry meshes for both Film and Game use in Unreal, Blender, Maya.etc
This video goes over creating the Desert Rocks in Gaea and setting up the exporting of the textures, masks and geometry.

Looking forward for the vertical cleanup video. Besides there are a few other things such as: how to use the tree distribution map for scattering trees on other softwares (such as houdini) and how to further add details to textures in substance painter. Great video, beautifull work, keep'em coming! 🙏

Very nice tut, I wish you showed importing to UE5 and using the different masks. I got the hang of importing the heightmap for a new landscape, but I still don't know how to use the other masks for textures/painting (vegetation, rocks, snow, sand, etc...)

Definitely looking forward to the vertical cleanup for sure, but how would you scale this effect to be the bottom of a mountain? I can't seem to find a way to use something like this as like a transition from mountain to desert on the same terrain. Video is amazeballs!!

This maybe a stupid question But erosion when it ends a node string is always the height map/roughness..right? And the last combine in a mask string is always texture right? Do you have a tutorial explaining exports for blender

Yes in this case. When you go to a satmap or a texture node you're then getting results as color or black and white breakup or patterns instead of height. Really at the end of the day everything is just black and white or colored images/textures. The importance is the last node to define your height/elevation of your terrain is the heightmap. After that it's usually just masks, color & texture details.

Heightmap is not a node, I just renamed the Erosion node to Heightmap since that was what I was going to export as a heightmap.

Just start with your heightmap as the base and then apply all these steps and it will produce something similar but in the shaping you want.
