The stressed-out-Brie situation is the epitome of why I'll never understand the hate on Captain Sandy. Like, she's all about recognizing potential & instead of squashing it over mistakes, she builds them up to b better than from when they started. Capt Sandy is a *boss* & has earned every one of her stripes, as well as the stripes of those below her whom she's built up instead of tearing down. Nothing but love & respect for her!!
A friend of mine is a yacht captain in Greece and when the clients arrived the primary, a woman, insisted she be replaced by a man. Sexism is rife in the industry.
She’s a woman. Unfortunately, there’s still a harsher view on women exhibiting traits and behaviors of a leader than there is on men. I say that as a woman who has always worked in female dominated fields, so I don’t have much of a biased concept of feeling like women are oppressed in the workplace. It really isn’t something that has had a chance to happen much in my field, so I don’t have much a personal bias here. Most women don’t, but it can be easier to argue objectivity when a woman has personally experienced misogyny in the workplace-even though that makes no sense lol it’s just reality.
Sounds like Gael was already done with him but he convinced her to stay in a relationship. And she convinced herself to stay with him. But still wanted attention from someone else to make her feel wanted. She needs to do some self reflection to recognize she was flirting from day one.

Her ex-boyfriend sounded so manipulative before Gael even met Nathan. He was ALREADY back and forth and guilt tripping Gael before she left. He told her if she left, it was over and then went back and wanted to work it out, but was still acting manipulative towards her. Being TOXIC is not normal. I respect her for trying as long as she did. I'm so glad that Nathan IS emotionally stable and is able to treat Gael how she SHOULD be treated. Fuck immature toxic male energy!

I don't know what it is if that's not a legitimate reason to be insecure. If I were in this situation and my girl told me I'm going on a girl's trip abroad, on a charter boat like Below Deck where drunken mischief always happens, Vegas, etc., I would say okay, but don't come back here after and that's the end of it.

Gael didn't hold out for him though? Didn't she start things with Nathan pretty much day one? I get that he might now have treated her well, but then she should have broken up with him insead of cheating. On another note I'm glad Kate is pointing out how badly Ellie acts towars Bri, and how she likes showing off in front of the guests instead of focusing on her tasks.

I almost resent Iain more than Ellie. At least Ellie wasn't endandering the safety of the crew and guests on an hourly basis and just went "oops" when told! (to then just turn around and go "why am I the one being blamed for this? the boat was barely on fire") edit: no I'm walking that back Elena is awful. I'm from France and historically speaking we are bad at war but we respond by destroying your soul from within with a stare down while mocking everything you cherish until you doubt your own existance, so I could take on a balkan biscuit who can't deal with criticism on a bad day, but when that type of personality finds someone they can dominate they just compensate for their own insecurities by belittling and bullying. And they are insecure because they are straight up evil.

Yes she's becoming a disappointment, getting too full of herself and production probably encouraged her to let the drama continue. A good leader would have stepped in to end it and not be carrying on with angry, devious Kate in the after show. Bri says it herself that she has been fired for incompetence. She is currently showing incompetence multiple times on very basic things. She needs to do things correctly & then there would be no need to coddle her. Ellie tried to guide her & it didn't work out. Bri's incompetence started effecting other's people down & I do believe Ellie is faltering because Bri's mistakes are leading to Ellie making mistakes.

I realize theyre all actors & this is (mostly) scripted entertainment & the Hollywood machine & all & everyone is swayed to the popular view just to be in (whatever &/or wherever that is) but, i know everyone has to see that Bri needs to walk the plank & dive into some serious Behavioral Healthcare.. So, i do hope she gets help if she truly is as sick & disturbed as she is on the show & support (& prayer, of course). Very disappointed in Aesha & Capt Sandy this season although i do wish Capt Sandy & her new wife all the best, happiness & love & a long, long, lovely life together. Bravo to you both!
