I literally went to a local retailer today to buy the B version. I ended up buying another 150B and one of the new 60B mkII lights. Guess I'll be headed back over there tomorrow... Great overview. Thanks Andrew.
The Green and Magenta Adjustment is absolutely incredible. That Nanlite implemented green and magenta emitters in Mono and bicolor lights is something I never could imagined before. This feature was long in my wishlist because the DUV of nearly every video light I used was never to my satisfaction, almost always too low (magenta). Filtering with gels was always a tradeoff due to the light loss.I will test one unit out and then I will buy 8 units if I am happy after testing 🙂 The only thing I would wish in the future is, that they use better LED's with higher CRI (no blue peak) like the ones Anglerfish iFootage lights use. Then they would be perfect!
Thanks for yet another thorough and honest review. I believe these lights can run on both 14.4V and 14.8V 12A V-Mount batteries, not just 14.8V like you said at 8:37. I haven't tested this out, though.
Great review Andrew. I Really like the idea of adding plus and minus green to a bi color. Keeps carrying gels down to a minimum. Would buy the Bi-Color?
Dear Andrew, i have to stop watching your reviews. Every 4th episode tempts me to buy new lamps. After watching this episode I will be selling my 2 Aputure LS300D and replace them with 2 of the Forza 300B II. And that's after I've 2 Forza 720Bs in my equipment since September. By the way, the new and almost noiseless Anker powerhouse 767 powers the 720B at full output for 2 hours and 20 minutes. Great for Outdoor. A big thank you for all your reviews over the last few years. I really appreciate that!
Well, HMI's now retired, within next year or so you may be retiring your current slate of LEDs. Solid state cooling is showing up in the PC world, eliminates fan cooling AND are much, much more energy efficient AND modules are much, much more compact. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YGxTnGEAx3E.html Thanks for your reviews, Andrew!
These are a newer LED light so they should outperform a 300x. It just comes down to decisions like optical accessories, and app ecosystems, possibly DMX dimming capabilities.
