After 45 years of hearing her greetings whenever I came home it's very hard to walk into an empty house when I get there. It's been 18 months since she died. I thought it might get easier but it doesn't. There are those who have tried to comfort me by telling me that death has no sting. When I think about where she is and what she might be doing even right now and how she's healed of her MS and colon cancer it makes me smile for her and even as I give thanks for the blessed hope we have in Jesus to save us and even as I agree that my separation has no sting, I have to be honest with my feelings, my grief and my extreme loneliness and say that while death may not have a sting of hopelessness, it still has a pretty mean left hook. I miss her so much and I am terribly broken without her.

If tomorrow never comes I have no regret in Christ who died Amen.

To my son Stefan, knowing you'll be there makes it easy to go home. Thank you blessed Jesus.

My sweet wife of 38 years past away from cancer on January 20/2020 on her Mother's birthday. She was an only child. My former Pastors wife had a dream the night before that morning she past away and said Becky looked at her and said " It's beautiful Sister Perkins". Our 40th wedding anniversary will be this New years eve. We had no children.Our child was our sweet Babyface (Pekingese) of 14 years, I had to put her down August 2020. I go to the grave yard 3 Times a week and recite our wedding vows. It's 2 weeks before Christmas and I'm missing her and our baby so bad, but I know one day soon we'll be together in heaven, never to say goodbye. I love you Becky and Baby. Don't know how many times that I've listened to this in the past month. I had made my husband a mix because he loved to watch the Gathers on TV. Today marked a year since my mom passed away. I'm listening this song sitting beside her grave. I miss you so much mom, but knowing you'll be there in heaven helps me cope mourning you.

When I would listen to this song several years ago, I'd ALWAYS think of my dad and how I'd get to see him again one day. The first line of the last verse says "You left a group a fishermen" My dad was a minister since he was 18 years old....a few years before he was married and I was even thought of. He loved to talk about Jesus no matter where he went! Of course, I still think of him when I hear the song but so much has happened since he passed in 2006.....lots of things in between but Iost my mom July 6, 2020. She had lived with me and my husband her last 5 years. Then.....I guess the biggest blow was when I lost my husband of 42 years this past New Years Eve 2021. I found him that morning on the living room floor. He always stayed up really late....always past midnight. It looked as if he had gone to the kitchen for a glass of milk and cookies, sat them on the table and fell. The coroner stated he'd been gone 8 or 9 hours and was most likely gone before he hit the floor!! I found him at 0930 that morning. It's such a hard thing to live with, to overcome and work through the grief but I know without a shadow of doubt God has seen me through this. As the footprints in the sand says....(NOT verbatim) When you only see one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you!!! He has absolutely 💯 % done that!! I couldn't make it without Jesus and his mercy and love! Just knowing that dad, mom and Jim will be there does make the thought of going home so much easier!!! Thank you for your never ending mercy!! Edit......I lost the only thing I had left March 24 at 10:20am. My 13.4 year old Cocker Spaniel, my baby boy, the love of my life! He was all I had left in this world so he became my everything and my only love!! He followed me everywhere, every footstep I took he also took. I am devastated and the house is truly empty without him! I cry everyday but I know I'll also see him again. It's just I needed him so much now and I begged God to not take my baby but it happened anyway. He was Soooo smart and sweet as pie! I think (the vet really doesn't have much of an answer as to what happened that morning) he had a stroke. He instantly lost use of his back legs and lost bowel control. I rushed him to the vet but he was gone in less than an hour from the time I got him there. I don't understand why God took him knowing how lost and totally heartbroken I would be without him. I know you CAN'T bargain with God but it didn't keep me from trying. I told God to take a year of my life and give it to him but of course, that didn't work, didn't happen. I love and miss you so much JJ but I'll see you along with my husband, parents and the rest of my family when it's time for God to call me home!!! I ❤️❤️❤️❤️😢😢😢💔💔💔💔
