Also , because the dialogues they have amongs themselves might be slightly different than the dialogues that you as an audience expect to see from your perspective. In reality, jimmy is just highlighting the possible awkward situations or repercussions that could ensue from telling kids such a lie , but he is doing it attempting to maintain a light comedic level to it. One could argue just as equally, that telling kids that a hug is how you make babies is way creepier.
