Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman is my first try at a portrait of a real person using the tattoo machine.
This is just practice in a non sterile environment. It is using fake skin and black ink only. Do not do this at home unless you have gone through the training to do so. I am using the tattoo machine as an art tool only at the moment.
I am looking for an apprenticeship in the Kansas City Area if you know of anyone please contact me.

Tip- melt the speed stick in the microwave for like 1 min..... mix with 1 part speed stick . 1/2 that amount ( equal amounts for the rest of the ingredients so basically all ingredients are half what the speed stick is . ) hand sanitizer , aloe Vera gel and glycerine . Put it all in a bottle and mix like crazy . It will stiffen up a little , just shake it a lot . It should be the consistency o a hand lotion. It's basically the same recipe for " stencil stuff " that costs like 30$ or more a bottle . For like 5$ in stuff . It works like magic !!

Great shading! You will make a great tattoo artist. You really have an eye for it! One suggestion if you are looking for it. Start tattooing the outline at the bottom of the stencil. When you wipe the ink down, it tends to remove the stencil too. It's best to start at the bottom and wipe down. That way it doesn't disturb the remaining stencil above. Keep it up!

Yeah I've gotten that tip before and I do think I'm getting better in my more recent videos. But there is a moment of panic sort of when playing down the first lines :) I hate that the fake skin doesn't take the ink well and I often have to go over lines over and over. I know that would murder real skin.
@FeralBoyKnives
@FeralBoyKnives 7 лет назад
Unfortunately there is no good substitute for the real thing. I hated using that fake skin. I always had the same problem with the lines staying in. I was very fortunate to have friends that trusted me. I also tattooed myself several times. I'm not saying tattoo anyone if you aren't ready, but I think you have enough artistic ability to lay down a good tattoo on real skin. Just my 2 cents.

The reason you are getting so much ink spatter is because you might be running your machine too high.

But your work is great. Good job. I was a bit worried when u started the tattoo on the face and not on the lower portion of the stencil. But great work.

The rotating machines are used to make realism so the shading will be better than with a coil machine ;)

Awesome! Great work! How do you get the excess ink removed so easy? Anytime I try on the fake skin patches the ink that I wipe away just stains the sheet so bad it’s not worth colouring or shading in

I use a brand of soap called, Green Soap. I buy it on Amazon then you can dilute it with water in a spray bottle and that works the best for me. Maybe at the very end when I'm really done with it I put a small dime size amount of the pure soap on the fake skin and that really helps get it completely clean without pulling up much if any of the ink I've put inside it.

Hi Christina where I can i get fake skin like that because the I had from ebay, it's so hard to clean and to work on it. Love u work well done
@ChristinaSmith
@ChristinaSmith 6 лет назад
I order mine through amazon usually in packs of 4 or 5 that are all the same size. I use a product called "Green Soap" to clean up. I think the soap is the bigger aid when keeping the silicon skin clean than the even the quality of the fake skin. I just get what's cheapest usually.
@scenicshadows1795

Nice work! Maybe try using only a shader if your shooting for pure realism as linework tends to make it somewhat animated. How do you get the stencil to transfer so well of off your design paper? I find if I don't use the waxy thin type paper that comes with the transfer paper it doesn't want to transfer too well. Cheers
@ChristinaSmith
@ChristinaSmith 7 лет назад
I've started to use Speed Stick just the cheap .97 cent ones at walmart work well. Just cover the fake skin and put it down and it comes out great. But don't use that on a person because of cross contamination.

When i try to wipe it off with baby wipes (wet) then all the ink comes out..
@ChristinaSmith
@ChristinaSmith 7 лет назад
I've never tried baby wipes, I'd wonder if there is any rubbing alcohol in it. That might be bringing ink out of your skin. I would stick to soap but especially a brand called Green Soap.

You need to keep going give a depth to it and more shadows leave the face shading alone and come back to it in the end hair needs mores strands it looks unfinished but all in all great work just keep going.

Not criticizing....but you should start at the bottom and work your way up. I notice you started at the face first. I usually start at the bottom only to prevent a mess and the lines fading. Other than that it's an awesome work..

@ChristinaSmith
@ChristinaSmith 5 лет назад
I use this product called, Green Soap (not green in color): www.amazon.com/Cosco-Tincture-Green-Soap-16/dp/B004I4SZSI I dilute it in a spray bottle and use it a lot while working. It's a concentrate so be sure to dilute it when using it. It's graded or human use too if you were actually tattooing people. But I don't work on real people yet but it works great on fake skin too.

Can you answer a question for me please? What kind of black ink are you using for this piece? I wanted to know because it doesn’t seem very dark, it’s almost greyish and I see it often but could never figure out what ink it is. The ink I use is super duper black and I just want to get that greyish/black effect like I see in a lot of other tats , I just could never find out. Any info would be helpful.

I just have 1 question, what are you using to clean the skin, when I wipe down mine they stay stained no matter the amount of scrubbing, is it just water something else
@ChristinaSmith
@ChristinaSmith 6 лет назад
I use a soap that is literally called, "Green Soap". I buy it on Amazon and then dilute it in a spray bottle. It's very concentrated and works great for getting the ink off the surface. When I'm doing with the whole thing then I wash it with the soap under the faucet.

Don’t use speed stick. Think about it. U wipe it on one persons skin to lay a stencil. Then what. U use it on another client. That’s a big no no. Use actual products made for that purpose. Don’t listen to everyone on here.

What to use to clean the ink on pad..
@ChristinaSmith
@ChristinaSmith 5 лет назад
I use a product called "Green Soap" on Amazon. It's good enough to use on skin as well. It's a concentrate so I dilute it in a spray bottle and keep wiping down as I work. Also don't let ink just sit on top of your skin for several hours it will hardly ever come out later. You have to keep it clean while you work and then when you are done do a complete front and back wipe down.

learn about cross contamination, using a speed stick that way is ok on fake skin but don't ever do it on real people, normally you would start a tattoo from the bottom of the stencil not in the middle.
@ChristinaSmith
@ChristinaSmith 7 лет назад
Thanks for your input.
@SykesFW
@SykesFW 6 лет назад
Darrell Marks speed stick use to be the go to for 99% of tattoo artists in the day, and old school guys still use it, there's not much of a concern for cross contamination unless there are open cuts on the clients skin but then as soon as the speed stick hits it they will be on fire. Think about it, ink caps aren't sterile, the machine itself isn't sterile and last but not least, ink isn't sterile, don't get me wrong, it may say sterile on the bottle but once it hits air, that's gone.

God I hate to be negative but here we go. The top portrait people always say never ever outline a face that all areas should be shaded if not the portrait has a cartoon look that you can’t get rid of like yours did. Never ever skip all around as you did again cause your team arising the skin all over the tattoos supposed to work bottom left up cause your also wiping off you stencil lines. The tattoo needs a lot more detail in the hair and just way more detailed shading also anyways just saying 👊😎
