Travel on 2 wheels in the province of Bicol to witness the majestic view of the Mayon volcano. A 10-12 hour ride to reach the town of Daraga where the iconic Cagsawa ruins, the remnants of a 16th century Franciscan church, It was originally built in the town of Cagsawa in 1558, but was burned down and destroyed by Dutch pirates in 1636. It was rebuilt by Fr. Francisco Blanco, but was destroyed again, along with the town of Cagsawa, on February 1, 1814, during the eruption of Mayon Volcano.
Of course when in Bicol, we have to taste the culinary traditions of some of the city that offers the finest dishes. The ever famous Laing, Bopis or Candingga, the Kinunot na pating (shark) and the sweetened pili nuts for dessert.
The trip was so fun and exciting, another accomplishment on my bucket list. A highly recommended place to visit to all road trippers out there.
