Had a medic in Hell Let Loose one time quote Mrs. Doubtfire. Me and this squad of random army guys were having a semi-serious chat about our time in the military and deployments and this guy just joins our squad when we all get downed and starts yelling "HELP IS ON THE WAY DEAR! HELP IS ON THE WAY!" Funniest shit ever
Clones: fighting tooth and nail for a foot of ground, watching their literal brothers die in battle from all manner of suffering. War is hell Battle Droids: quips
That's what makes the droids special from clones. Droids can't cave in to pressure, can't get shell shock or ptsd, can't get discouraged nor can they be bought, bribed, or bullied. The only loyalty or feeling that they truely have, is to their code and programming.
@@unclelarry8842 most machines in media yes, B1 battle droids (the iconic droid quipper) are usually very humanlike machines. Many droids in Star Wars are likely to develop personality quirks when they go to long without factory resets.
I don't understand why some people think lasers and plasma weapons in sci-fi aren't as cool as guns. That first 30 seconds looked and sounded incredible.
Familiarity. We know what guns can do to us, and we see guns used to kill, maim, and wound people all the time. Constant exposure to "Guns can fuck you up badly." Laser and plasma weapons? - "I ain't ever heard of no fuckwit gotten killed by a high powered pinpoint light." - A Marine Sgt I know. Though, Sodaz is currently animating Fallout and I think his depiction of lasers is pretty spot on. Plus he made them sound intimidating as well as taking off limbs.
It’s because sci fi is science fiction. The science has to make sense in order to back up the fictional story being told about it. Star wars has laser swords and unexplained interstellar travel because it’s an action adventure franchise. Stargate has humans still using guns because it makes sense from a science fiction perspective. Star Wars let’s them do whatever with magic tech because that makes more sense from an action adventure perspective.
Rogue one was the last real Star Wars movie and it did just that. If we could get another movie/live action with that much feel I think the fandom would be overjoyed
Battlefront 1 and 2 were close but ea went for making it more accessible compared to battlefield. The more like battlefield the more we can get it like this. Ubisoft would probably do it because of ghost recon
@@Tarriq I honestly blame the fans. Remember how millions of people cried that EA Battlefront shouldn't just be a "copy & paste" of Battlefield? This basically forced DICE to make something different out of it, even though the original Battlefronts were nothing but a shameless Star Wars reskin of Battlefield. This is what made those games so great. It still makes me angry that the guys who actually invented the Battlefield formula and created the epic epicness we know as Battlefield 1 got their hands on the Battlefront IP but were forced to make it shit.
God this is why I love Star Wars. No matter the tactical game like Squad, Arma, Assault Squad, etc, every Star Wars fan looks at these games and say 'Ok so how can we change this into Star Wars now?'. One of the best modding communities imo
Holy cow, I bet this is what battle of Geonosis was like! What a chaotic landing!! There are also tons of republic ships in orbit, realistically, they could provide orbital fire to cover you. This is a such a cool mod/game!!
A venator was called in later in the match but I called it as the commander in a HAP so it's not very exciting footage from my end. Some matches you start in an Acclamator class and you have to board the enemy ship with LAATs or vise versa.
A lot of people use very well-made voice changers to sound like clones especially commanding units. You can hear one in this video over command comms talking towards the end saying he's moving in with an ATTE to destroy the enemy AAT that was killing us in the second drop zone. Sadly I didn't see it on my end because I needed to place the FOB radio and a Rallypoint just in case if things went south.
It would make the immersion incredible. I was just thinking about the old saying "He's got a face for radio". Some of those guys had voices for newspaper.
granted repulsorlift craft are incredibly durable, but that is the problem with antigrav vehicles, soon as that lift goes, you fall like a stone, and a laat is still a flying brick
@@mulder801 It checks out for the GAR since Palpatine was ultimately manipulating it to fight the war badly (see the Republic Commando Series). That didn't turn out to well for the US Airforce in Vietnam (basically bombed lightly to avoid civilan casualties -> Vietcong and NVA got adjusted -> US Airforce swiched to heavy bombardment when this wasn't a two week war but the adaptions made bombing ineffective -> insert shocked Pikatchu face)
@@chrismath149 You are implying that, had the USAF escalated straight to heavy, indiscriminate bombing, they would have been more effective. ...Except the strategy of the Vietcong and NVA wasn't to try and win a conventional war. Their strategy was based on building legitimacy for their cause, by goading the USA into using excessive force. Especially against civilian targets, which gave the NVA and Vietcong ample propaganda fodder with which to amass local support. The USA couldn't claim to be the good guys when they were indiscriminately killing people. Because the Vietnamese were ultimately fighting for independence from French colonialism. That was a grievance that the communists wielded to great effect, and was why no amount of bombing was ever going to stop the war. So long as the French colonial government held onto South Vietnam, the communists could just keep shit-stirring. If the USA had instead pressured France to give up its colony, they could have robbed the communists of their popular support, and maybe even earned the respect of the Vietnamese people. They could have won if they hadn't gone in guns blazing. This information isn't secret. This is all based on Mao Zedong's theory of "Protracted War". Bog down the enemy in ideology, cause and grievance, so that they must engage in political action as well as military action if they want to win. If the enemy rejects politics, and keeps trying to wage a shooting war, they will just exhaust themselves fighting an enemy of endless will. It worked for the Chinese communists, it worked for the Vietnamese communists, it worked for the Afghan Taliban, and it's working for Ukraine right now. We have the playbook, we know the strategy. But bullheads like you still think that "just shoot them harder" is a winning plan.
Star Wars Battlefront 3 has so much potential if its ever made man... way too many solid examples of legut Star Wars themed mods for games out here for EA to not be up to the task at making something stellar.
The co-pilot seat is useless if you don't have the pilot role equipped. It's purely cosmetic right now. If you have the pilot role and the pilot seat is killed you can take over and fly the aircraft. In this match I was the Commander so having the pilot role wasn't ideal.
LOL I was panicking trying to get my bearings figuring out what to do. I didn't see the enemy, I needed to get a FOB setup quickly since we crash landed short of where we needed to be.
I just had a legendary idea where its clone wars but every action, strategy, everything is managed by the players. What planets to capture, what to build, the ranks, everything
Wish a game like this would be official and where the dust clouds actually stay and form in the dirt from all the explosions, dirt and movement, and then seeing the laser beams lightning and just flying back and worth.
